Yang Zhen (杨Zhen) was a famous minister of the Eastern Han Dynasty and a native of Huayin, Hongnong (present-day Huayin, Shaanxi). He was well-versed in scriptures, well-read, upright, honest and incorruptible, and was known as "Confucius of Kansai". The then general Deng Kui heard that Yang Zhen was a sage, so he made him Maocai, and after four promotions, he was appointed as Jingzhou Assassin Shi and Donglai Taishou.
When passing through Changyi on the way to Donglai Taishou, Changyi County Ling Wang Mi came to visit, and when Yang Zhen was serving as the Jingzhou Assassin, he recommended Wang Mi to serve as Changyi County Commandery, and that night, Wang Mi came with gold to give to Yang Zhen. Yang Zhen was very upset and said, "Old friends know you, but you don't know me, why is that?" Wang Mi did not understand Yang Zhen's reproach and said, "It's dark at night, and no one knows." Yang Zhen said: "God knows, God knows, you know, I know, how can I say that no one knows?" Wang Mi was ashamed, took the gold, and left in ashes. Yang Zhen was therefore given the title "Four Knowing Taishou".
Generations of descendants of the Yang family have also taken Yang Zhen as an example and continuously passed on the "Four Knowledges Family Style" as a family rule and ancestral motto. The descendants of the Yang family in Chixi Town, Ningde Jiaocheng District, also built the Yang Zhen clean government education base on the basis of the Yang family ancestral hall, which built an important platform for the vast number of party members and cadres to receive clean education.
