However, it must also be noted that there are many common drugs in life, which we think are safe, but in fact are a fatal danger for children whose resistance is still very weak.

Medication misunderstandings in children
A survey by CCTV shows that more than 80% of parents have medication misunderstandings.
Especially since the epidemic, many parents are worried that they will be isolated when they go to the hospital, and self-medication is more frequent, which is harmful to their children's health.
Common mistakes in feeding children include abusing adult drugs, adjusting the dose without authorization, and stopping the drug yourself.
Why can't you give adult medicine at will? Quite simply, because children are not scaled-down adults, children should use special medicines for children, not reduce the dose and everything will be fine.
Drug treatment requires a process, the disappearance of symptoms does not mean that the disease is truly cured, and it is not advisable to change the dose without listening to the doctor's advice, which will affect the recovery process.
Especially when taking antibiotics, if you stop taking them yourself, you may not only make the disease come back, but also develop drug resistance.
Common but unsafe medication situations in daily life, the following 3 categories are worth noting:
(1) Eliminate brand size products
The "big-headed doll" incident that made a lot of noise was because the child was given an eczema cream that was found to contain a high content of super powerful hormones.
Such products are disinfectant rather than therapeutic, unlike drugs that require rigorous clinical trials, so the risk of problems such as adding hormones is higher.
(2) Antipyretic medicine + compound cold medicine
The pharmaceutical ingredients of most cold medicines have a fever-reducing effect, and if you add fever-reducing drugs, resulting in excessive medication, children are very prone to adverse reactions.
There are two types of antipyretic drugs recommended by the World Health Organization and widely used in various countries:
Ibuprofen and acetaminophen, combined with cold fever medicines, are not recommended for children. And children of different ages have fever, and the medication situation is also different, everyone must pay attention!
(3) phlegm + cough medicine
Phlegm and cough suppressants are like twins, and we always expect them to work at the same time.
But in fact, phlegm reducing drugs dilute sputum to make it easier to drain, and coughing is the way to expel sputum.
If two drugs are taken at the same time, isn't it contradictory?
In addition, many cough medicines contain codeine, morphine and other substances, which can cause adverse reactions such as respiratory depression and even drug addiction in younger children.
Children are not allowed to take drugs, do not touch them
In order to better ensure the safety of children's medication, parents also need to understand the contraindications of some drugs, such as some of our common antibiotic drugs, and some drugs that are banned or used with caution in children as expressly stipulated by the state.
Today, I will focus on 3 kinds, all of which are explicitly listed as pediatric banned drugs, don't touch them!
(1) Analgin tablets
Analgin has caused deaths both domestically and abroad, and the drug has been banned in more than 30 countries.
Analgin syzole easily affects the blood circulation of young children, leading to autoimmune hemolysis, aplastic anemia and other problems.
In 2020, the State Food and Drug Administration clearly stipulated that this drug is prohibited from being used in children under the age of 18.
(2) Ribavirin
Ribavirin is reproductive toxic and can cause hemolytic anaemia and teratogenicity to the fetus. Even exposure to therapeutic doses as low as 1% produces a higher chance of teratogenicity.
But it often appears in the list of medications for colds, hands, feet and mouth diseases, and everyone must keep their eyes open.
(3) Traditional Chinese medicine injection
I often see that some doctors in small clinics will prescribe Chinese medicine injections such as double huanglian, yin huanghuang, chai hu, qing kailing, xiyanping, phlegm heat qing and other traditional Chinese medicine injections for children.
But in fact, the NMPA has repeatedly issued notices to restrict the use of these drugs in children.
For example, the "Requirements for the Revision of the Instructions for Chaihu Injection" clearly instructs: "prohibited for children" should be added under the instructions [taboos]!
The components of traditional Chinese medicine injection are more complex, and the adverse reactions are not clear, which can lead to allergies and even shock.
