Ventoy is an open source and free all-in-one system installation/boot disk maker that supports almost all major distributions of Windows and Linux. Its biggest function is that N different types of operating system installation disks (such as Windows, WinPE, Linux, ESXi, OpenWrt, ikuai, etc.) and retro game systems can be integrated in 1 U disk or mobile hard disk, bootable and installed through the menu.
Preparations
- Two U disks (recommended above 8G, ISO system files are large.) If there is only one U disk, use the U disk to make the VHDX file of the Windows system first, and then format the U disk to install Ventoy. ）

Vtoy makes the startup disk
Insert the U disk, open the Ventoy2Disk in the download file, after the U disk letter is displayed at the device, click "Install" (remember to back up the U disk data before installation to avoid loss), format the U disk according to the prompts, wait for the progress bar to be completed, "Device Internal Ventoy version" shows the same version of the character, you can close the Ventoy2Disk software, open my computer, select the U disk to format again (Note: formatted with NTFS file system type), Then create a new folder with the lowercase name ventoy in the USB flash drive.
Open the Ventoy website, enter the "Document Manual", scroll down to "Plugin Description", download the Wim file startup plug-in and the Windows VHD startup plug-in respectively, and put these two plug-ins into the ventoy folder on the U disk.
At this point, the production of the Ventoy startup disk is completed.
Special note: Some systems need to configure plugins to start, so read the instructions and plug-in problems on the Ventoy website by yourself (for example: Linux, OpenWrt), which will not be introduced here.
Configure U disk multi-system
Windows
Windows system needs to be completed with the help of WTG auxiliary tools, first of all, decompress the downloaded ISO image file and open the wintogo tool. The first item selects the install.wim file in the sources folder under the image file, the second item selects the U disk without the Ventoy boot disk installed (used to install the system first, and then copy the VHD system file to the Ventoy boot disk), the third item selects the version of the Windows system, and the advanced functions on the right check check "virtual hard disk", "UEFI + GPT", and remove the check box "shield the local hard disk".
Click "Virtual Hard Disk" and select "VHDX", modify the file name of the virtual hard disk, and then click "Deploy".
Follow the instructions until you are prompted with "Write Complete" to complete the USB drive system installation.
Then restart the computer, set the U disk as the first boot item in the BIOS (there is a list of BIOS shortcut keys below), save the settings, and restart to complete the subsequent initial settings of Windows. Finally, open the USB flash drive where the USB flash drive system is installed, find the VHDX system file, and copy it to another Ventoy boot disk.
