"MiG I-2000" in the game

This issue will usher in the familiar "MiG I-2000" project, but the following will explain why this name is a misrepresentation. @nordland Toutiao Original debut

In 1993-1997, consulting projects abroad provided sufficient funding for the Eurasian Design Bureau, and Mukhamedov was able to start simultaneously advancing his own scheme, and the model of the "Integral" project was extensively tested in the GTD-2M large wind tunnel in Kiev, using the code name "AC". The purpose of the test is to characterize eddy current systems at a wide range of angles of attack. The study found that the central plane part of the wing, in the form of a disk, could maintain vortices stably at large angles of attack (test angles of attack up to 80°), without the need for additional equipment to improve it. Ideal as an aerodynamic basis for a fifth-generation multi-role fighter (MFI).

In 1997, Mukhamedov qualified for the design bureau for the development of military aircraft, and then decided to start working on the Light Fighter (LBS) project on the basis of the work "Integral-2010", which was named "Integral-2010, Интеграл-2010"), positioned as an export fighter for the international market.

The combined disc wing of Mukhamedov was officially named "Mukhamaedov Wing", which will be the biggest feature of the "Integral 2010" project. LBS belongs to the high-level light fighter. Market research shows that despite the fact that a large number of competing light fighter programs are already in development, the demand is quite widespread, and the market is still optimistic. The excellent maneuverability due to the unique aerodynamics will give the Integral 2010 a competitive advantage.

In addition to the wing layout, the Integral 2010's three-engine, two-nozzle power system is also very distinctive, and the aircraft's power plant includes basic (BSU) and auxiliary (APU) power units. AL-31 MF turbofan engines (with a shortened afterburner) were used as BSUs and two small TRDD-50M engines were used as APUs. This brought the Integral 2010 to the power level of the J-10. This powertrain can significantly increase the thrust-to-weight ratio in a short period of time, such as during take-off and landing. Another feature of the powertrain is the unification of the BSU and the auxiliary powertrain APU through a common air path that transfers the flowing gas to two flat control nozzles spaced relative to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft, and two nozzles that make it possible to directly control the roll using thrust vectoring. To supply air to the engines of the APU, additional air intakes were added to the surface of the fuselage. Covered by blinds when not in use.

Other layout changes include the air intake moving forward to the leading edge of the side strip, and the upper edge is flush with the leading edge of the side strip, forming a configuration of the "Garret" intake duct, which results in a lower RCS.

In April 1998, the famous military journalist Peter Butowski published an article in Jane's Defense Weekly magazine entitled "Russian Fighter 2000 Chases Its JSF Competitors". It indicates:

"The pace of Russian creation of a light front-line fighter has accelerated significantly, and the aircraft will be able to enter service in 2005. At the same time, Butovsky stressed that the characteristics of the aircraft will not be worse than those of American aircraft created under the JSF program. ”

Butowski's article uses an imaginary image of "Integral-2010", but the report uses the name "I-2000" and claims to have been developed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau (although to some extent, Mukhamedov is also a former Mikoyan engineer). It is not clear whether this oolong report is a reporter's Zhang Guan Li Dai or a Russian "strategic flicker", but its impact is far-reaching. So much so that there are still a large number of articles quoting that the "MiG I-2000" is the LFI project of the late 90s of Mikoyan, but in fact, the LFI project of the MiG is 1.42 (see Portal for introduction).

Thanks to the income from overseas operations, in 1998 the Eurasian Design Bureau was reorganized into "Mukhamedov Experimental Design Bureau LLC". By this time, it was already a full-fledged design bureau, in which specialists from MAI, Tupolev, Yakovlev, Sukhoi, Myasishchev worked. and continue to carry out overseas business.

LFS-M-AT/XXI

In 2000, a light fighter LFS-M-ATA/XXI was developed on the basis of the last version of the "Aurora" / "Integral" (version 4.4), an inexpensive universal fighter for all-weather air and ground missions. The normal take-off weight is 9500 kg. The aircraft uses the "Aurora"/"Integral" size as much as possible, so that the design can be completed in the shortest possible time.

The aircraft as a whole is on the same level as Saab's Gripen, and the layout is scaled down to 80% on the basis of "points", with the minimum necessary modifications to the airframe. The right side of the head-mounted radar was planned to equip the cannon, and the aft compartment was canceled. The installation of the RD-33K engine nozzle with afterburner was changed accordingly and the three-axis thrust vectoring technique was used.

Airborne systems and electronics are planned to follow the MiG-29, with additional equipment including a radar warning system and an aiming system with laser and thermal imaging. However, the first calculations of the afterburner mode showed that the aircraft would not reach the thrust-to-weight ratio of the Gripen. Thus, the concept of the aircraft was somewhat modified, but the entire main aerodynamic advantages were retained, including the ability to make stable flight at an angle of attack of up to 40 °.

Mukhamedov recommended LFS-M-AT/XXI to domestic clients and interested overseas customers (mainly Iran). However, project development is only possible with joint investment from domestic customers and potential partners. The Iranians may have used the code name Shafagh-2, but made no mention of the response or progress, drowning in Iran's ambitious fighter program at the turn of the century, leaving only the concept. @nordland Toutiao Original debut
