21st Century Business Herald reporter Bai Yang Beijing report On October 26, at the 2021 Artificial Intelligence Computing Conference, IDC and Inspur Information released the "2021-2022 Chinese Intelligent Computing Power Development Assessment Report". According to IDC, global companies will invest more than $85 billion in AI software, hardware and services in 2021, and China's spending on the AI market will reach $8.2 billion, of which about 70% of related spending will come from AI hardware.

The report points out that computing power has become the core productivity of the digital age and a new driving force for the development of the digital economy. The 2020 Global Computing Power Index Evaluation Report shows that from 2015 to 2019, the average increase in the computing power index is 1 point, and the country's digital economy and GDP will grow by 3.3 ‰ and 1.8 ‰ respectively, and this trend is expected to continue in the next few years.

At the same time, with the continuous evolution of new technologies, the development of artificial intelligence also presents the characteristics of diversified application scenarios, algorithm models and data giant quantification, which puts forward higher requirements for the development of computing power: while supporting large-scale deployment, it is also necessary to meet different computing needs such as high concurrency, high elasticity, and high precision, and continue to provide computing power for different loads of artificial intelligence.

IDC predicts that the amount of newly created data in the world will exceed 160 ZB in 2025, and in addition to the surge in data volume, there are several relatively large changes:

1. The amount of data created by enterprises has surpassed consumers and become the largest source of data generation;

2. The data type changes, and unstructured data such as images and videos begin to be generated in large quantities;

3, the proportion of real-time data is increasing year by year, it is expected that by 2024, real-time data will account for a quarter of the entire data circle;

4. Data is increasingly concentrated in the core data center, rather than on the end side. It is expected that by 2025, the proportion of core data will increase from the current 40% to more than 60%.

IDC research found that in the first half of 2021 Chinese smart chips, GPUs are still the first choice to achieve data center acceleration, accounting for more than 90% of the market share, while ASICs, FPGAs, NPU and other non-GPU chips are also increasingly adopted in various industries and fields, the overall market share is close to 10%, and it is expected that by 2025, its proportion will exceed 20%.

The report also notes that the deployment model of enterprise IT infrastructure is also shifting from traditional procurement acceleration to elastic spending with the public cloud. IDC data show that in 2020, China's artificial intelligence server market deployed in the public cloud has accounted for more than 30%, the overall market size of more than 800 million US dollars, and the proportion of the global artificial intelligence server public cloud has reached 50%, which shows that the Chinese intelligent public cloud service market is still in the development stage, the next five years will usher in rapid growth, it is expected that by 2025, the proportion of Chinese intelligent server public cloud will exceed 50%.

If you look at the application of artificial intelligence single point technology, the survey results show that computer vision is still the most important application technology type, and the application rate of enterprises such as video surveillance, image recognition, intelligent cameras, face recognition and image processing is in the forefront. It is expected that in the future, while enterprises continue to increase the application of computer vision, they will also deepen the application of speech recognition, natural language processing and other technical scenarios.

In addition, the report also evaluates the development of intelligent computing power of Chinese workers from both industry and geographical levels. The report shows that in 2021, the top 5 industries in the artificial intelligence industry application penetration are the Internet, finance, government, telecommunications and manufacturing, compared with 2020, the financial industry artificial intelligence application speed accelerated and surpassed the government industry, ranking second, and the application of artificial intelligence in the manufacturing, transportation and energy industries was also more in-depth, ranking fifth, seventh and ninth respectively.

In the 2021 Chinese Smart Cities Ranking, the TOP5 cities are Beijing, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, and Shanghai, and the cities ranked 6-10 are Suzhou, Guangzhou, Jinan, Chengdu, and Hefei. Compared with 2020, Nanjing entered the top five for the first time, and Jinan entered the top ten for the first time.
