Leaving little room for imagination is a fashion strategy favored by many of your favorite celebrities. One of the best ways to capitalize on this concept is to play with the prominent thongs trend, with A-list stars like Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin) and Dua Lipa being big fans.
The trend stemmed from the popularity of low-rise jeans in the 90s, but recently the concept has seen a fashion renaissance. However, many stars are changing the look to suit the modern era: deliberately pairing obvious lingerie with sleek backless dresses.
One such person is model Hailey, who wore a pale pink turtleneck dress at the 2019 Met Gala that looked plain at first. However, the back of the dress was completely open, revealing a pair of matching thongs. At the time, the look made headlines and was remembered for its subtle details.
Kim Kardashian is also a fan of this style. In October 2020, the star who traveled with the Kardashians presented one of Matthew Williams' designs for his first collection with luxury fashion house Givenchy.
Kim's sister Kelly also jumped on the bandwagon. In June 2019, the makeup giant shared a photo of himself lying on a sofa in Agent Provocateur's bright green lingerie and jeans. In the photo, the Kylie Skin founder's thongs are exposed on the outside of his pants.
However, the celebrity who has recently joined the peekaboo thongs craze is none other than Beyoncé. During the December 2020 spread of the cover story of the British edition of Vogue, she wore a stunning Christopher John Rogers shoulder-length backless gown that showcased her decorated crystal thong to the fullest.
Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa has wrapped up 2022 in style. The pop singer ushered in the New Year with a fashion gamble. The 27-year-old "Levitating" singer wore a dazzling silver dress from the Ludovic de Saint Sernin brand and made a splash at a lavish New Year's Eve celebration. This skinny dress has a slip neckline and is crafted from shimmering material. However, the most striking feature of this dress is its full-backed design, which is very low, revealing the pop singer's white tong.

On January 11, 2021, the British singer wore the sexiest low-cut little black dress, revealing her small thong.
Bieber
Bieber wore a similar look when celebrating New Year's Eve in Aspen, Colorado, wearing a Mugler LBD with lace-up details at the back, including an exposed thong illusion shoulder strap, thanks to the extreme cutouts strategically designed. This isn't the first time Rhode founders have dared to go naked either — Bieber walked the Met Gala red carpet in 2019 wearing a bubblegum-pink Alexander Wang backless thong dress.
