Alpine driver Fernando Alonso believes it was bad luck that prevented him from taking the podium in Russia last weekend.

Before the weather turned bad, Alonso looked like he had a good chance of finishing in the top three, but in the end he was sixth.

Hamilton won his 100th race at the Sochi circuit, with Wittburn in second place and Ferrari carlos Sainz in third place.

Despite being disappointed by the result, Alonso praised the Alpe team he played for.

The 40-year-old won the driver's championship in 2005 and 2006 and is currently at number ten on the championships chart with 58 points, with points he has scored nine times in his first ten races.

The driver said: "We should be on the podium, we were once ahead of Wittburn and Sainz. ”

"But after it started raining, our luck also changed and I was sad because we lost our competitiveness."

'Despite some bad luck, I think the team has done a very good job and now everyone is confident about the future races.
