Best director was won by veteran Jane Campion of New Zealand for "The Power of a Dog," the second time she has won a Venice Award since she won the Grand Jury Prize for Angels at The Table with Me in 1990 and the Pasinettia Award for Lady's Nature in 1996.
In the Horizon unit, Piseth Chhun, the lead actor in the Cambodian film "White Mansion," won Best Actor, which tells the story of a Cambodian youth who demolished a building. Produced by Jia Zhangke, the film will represent Cambodia in the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film and is expected to be screened domestically.
