Elsa Hosk has been a top model for most of the past decade, and she's showing no signs of slowing down. Hosk didn't embark on her usual journey to the top, and for a while, she didn't even take modeling seriously. Still, Elsa is a natural player on the runway, and she looks destined to become one of the best in the modeling world.

Elsa's father helped launch her modeling career

Elsa was born on November 7, 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden, to a Swedish father and a Finnish mother. She grew up with two brothers and was very interested in sports.

Elsa's first modeling opportunity came from her father, Pal. When Elsa was 13, Parr distributed her photos to a modeling agency in Sweden. A year later, Elsa started modeling for agencies in Sweden. She had done some work at Guess and other modeling agencies, but at the time, Elsa didn't consider modeling to be a reliable career.

She played basketball before moving to New York to work as a model

After graduating, Elsa put her modeling career on hold to become a professional basketball player in Sweden. Her time as a basketball player helped her build the amazing body she has today. Elsa trained a lot with her team when she thought she could become a professional basketball player

"It's completely different from the WNBA, I mean basketball isn't that important in Sweden. But it's still very tough. Exercise eight times a week, followed by races on weekends. After playing for two years, Elsa decided to leave the court to focus on her modeling career. She moved to New York to give herself better modeling opportunities. Elsa soon signed a contract with IMG Models, and her acting career began to take off.

Elsa is grateful for the years she spent as a basketball player because they helped prepare her for the pressures of the modeling industry.

"Sometimes [the modeling industry] can be really crazy, but you just learn and you get into it. It's harder when you relax a little, like staying home in New York for a week and then having to go back on a trip. You [start] rebuild relationships, dry clean clothes, and then start to get back into the normal rhythm [then you have to leave]. ”

Elsa's modeling career rose dramatically after landing in New York, and she was soon approached by Victoria's Secret to become one of their models. Within a few years, Elsa had become a leader in the modeling industry. Victoria's Secret brought Elsa to the pinnacle of modeling, but Elsa also sees her work with photographer Ellen von Unwerth as a career definition.

Elsa claims not to have confidence in her buttocks

Elsa has what many consider to be the perfect body, but she claims to be insecure about her ass. The secret of this body is a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. Elsa also says that being a full-time model is helpful because it means you have to stay healthy constantly.

"I think for us, since we started working in lingerie, we've had to stay in shape almost all the time. So [when the Victoria's Secret fashion show comes] it's not like, "Oh, you need to lose a million pounds," you just need to tighten up. We are ready almost all year round. ”

Tightening Elsa's body means doing a lot of butt lifts to give her confidence in her hips. This is Aisha's main job before the show. For most of us, it's hard to take off our underwear in front of thousands of people, but Elsa seems to have done it effortlessly.

According to Elsa, the backstage environment helps ease the tension she may have developed before the show.

"Interestingly, I thought I was going to be nervous, but when I got there, the backstage was very funny, everyone was screaming and dancing, and I got very good advice from everyone. Chanel told me just having fun there. That's great. You get such high energy from energy. It's amazing. It was like a truly exciting experience. ”

She has been outspoken about her struggle with alcoholism

Elsa began her struggle with alcohol when she arrived in New York from Sweden. She lives alone and feels lost in her new environment. Aisha turned to alcohol, but she soon realized it was holding her back.

Elsa celebrates her 10th anniversary of alcohol abstinence by sharing a photo of her Taiwanese Vogue cover on Instagram. She posted a message that read;

"I became sober and clean and learned that I was an alcoholic and that there was a whole new world out there to stay sober. I met some amazing people and friends and slowly rediscovered myself... So something happened that I never thought possible. Gratitude is beyond words! ”

Before she quit drinking, Aisha thought she couldn't cope without it. She felt uncertain about a future without alcohol. However, she now describes her decision to quit drinking as the best she ever made.

"For me, quitting alcohol didn't mean the end of my life (which I thought at the time), but the beginning of a genuine, beautiful, great, happy and successful life. Completely opposite to what I thought! I struggled at first because I was an alcoholic (you have to remind yourself of that for the rest of your life) but it was the best decision I ever made. ”

Elsa also revealed that she quit smoking several years ago and hopes to quit e-cigarettes one day.

In 2019, she suffered a cloth dresser malfunction while competing in a film competition in Venice. One of her pieces of jewelry fell onto the blood-red carpet, so she asked to crouch down to pick it up.
