Lajan Rondo told the media that the Los Angeles Lakers have always had his place
Since rejoining the Los Angeles Lakers, Lajean Rondo's first media interview has generated a lot of conversation between fans and analysts. In addition to his hypothetical shots against the Clippers and Telu, Rondo also told the media that the Isohurs had been his target from start to finish.
After striking a buyout deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, Rondo doesn't seem interested in joining any other team than the Lakers. In response to a question about his upcoming character for the Lakers, Rondo replied that he realized the team was deep in point guard, which meant he wouldn't play as much as he wanted; however, he went on to say that he hadn't considered any other team than the Lakers.
Rondo had great success with the frothy Lakers, but that manifest hasn't been replicated since. In 13 playoff games with the Clippers before being substituted, Rondo shot just 34 percent from the field, including just 33 percent from the basket.
When Rajon Rondo played in the playoffs, the Clippers had an ORTG of 111.6, a DRTG of 117.9, an NTRG of -6.4, and a plus-minus of -27. When Rondo came off the field in the playoffs, those numbers rose dramatically. When Rondo sits on the bench, the Clippers have an ORTG of 120.7, a DRTG of 112.3, an NTRG of +8.4, and a plus-minus of +104.
It's understandable why Rondo wants to go back to where he last succeeded, but at this stage of his career, it remains to be seen whether this can be replicated outside of the bubble environment.
