Feng Xiaoyue: There are many things that attract me to this drama. First of all it was a comedy, and I really wanted to try comedy, but there weren't many opportunities before. The main creative team is also one of the reasons that attracted me to join, in the creative process, I learned from the director, screenwriter, producer, this state is very good.
Yangcheng Evening News: Many viewers praised your performance in the play as "very confident", and you can shoot some very "shameful" funny scenes in a serious way. Is it cool to shoot comedy this time? How to hold back the laughing field?
Feng Xiaoyue: My sense of belief comes from - I want to make comedy! From the actor's point of view, comedy is also to be taken seriously. And the drama is to serve the audience, and all the actor has to do is to believe in the setting of the script as much as possible. Of course, the script of "My Babylonian Lover" is very interesting, and many things are good to follow the script. As for the laughing field, there will still be occasionally, hahaha.
Yangcheng Evening News: In the play, 12-year-old Chen Meiru created Murong Jaylen based on his classmate Chen Jinxin. Unexpectedly, when the two met again at the age of 24, Chen Jinxin had become a fat and bald man. The shape of your role as adult Chen Jinxin is on the hot search. It is said that you were very excited when you learned that you were going to do this ugly look, why?
Feng Xiaoyue: I think Chen Jinxin's setting is very creative. The creative team conceived Chen Meiru's growing worldview very completely, and the various settings were very reasonable, and there was a strong dramatic conflict. So when we talked about this look, I really wanted to try it.
Yangcheng Evening News: This shape is still quite painstaking and time-consuming, and the reverse mold was made for 6 hours. How does it feel?
Feng Xiaoyue: The inverted mold master is very experienced, I have seen many of his previous works on the spot, and they look very powerful and gorgeous. I was very confident at the time, and I felt that after I reversed the mold, I would definitely look like Sun Wukong or some god. It turned out to be a fat guy (laughs). It feels quite humorous.

Before "My Babylonian Lover", Feng Xiaoyue's most well-known role for mainland audiences was Gong Huan in "Little Times". Yangcheng Evening News: You are working with Bu Guanjin, who plays Chen Meiru, and Wang Ruichang, who plays Ouyang Wenshan, for the first time.
Feng Xiaoyue: We trust each other very much when we get along, and everyone quickly believes in a somewhat "outrageous" plot. When we are willing to believe and put it into the story, no matter how outrageous the story is, it will become true and the audience will feel it. That's the most powerful thing about My Babylonian Lover.
Yangcheng Evening News: In your opinion, what kind of person is Murong Jaylen? He has two identities in him - 12-year-old Chen Meiru's imaginary perfect boyfriend, the real ancient Babylonian prince in history, how do you understand and interpret these two separate identities?
Feng Xiaoyue: I think Murong Jaylen is a very loveless person. Maybe because he grew up in a relatively loveless environment, but at the same time he is a sensitive and romantic person. Much of his personality comes from the identity of the ancient Babylonian prince, so there are both thick and naïve parts of his personality, as well as stubbornness and violence. This kind of personality was quite normal in ancient times, but when he brought this character to modern times, there will naturally be some conflicts.
Yangcheng Evening News: How do you understand the feelings between Murong Jay lun and Chen Meiru?
Feng Xiaoyue: When you fall in love, you just met someone at some stage of your life, and he is exactly what you lack and need in your life at that time, so that the two will attract each other. Murong Jay Lun and Chen Meiru had this strong attraction, and they actually needed each other very much. It is a very beautiful thing to have such a bond in life.
3 "Akkad language helps me get into the role better"
Before the start of "My Babylonian Lover", the main actors were trained in Akkad (ancient Babylonian), and Feng Xiaoyue was the fastest and most fluent in pronunciation. Producer Zhu Mo revealed: "He became the 'small class leader', we asked him to record and let other actors follow. More than half a year after the end of filming, he came back to do dubbing, and he could still recite Akkadian lines out of the script. Because there are many scenes in the scene that need to show their figure, Feng Xiaoyue insisted on vegetarianism and fitness during the filming, and invited a yoga instructor to accompany him throughout the whole process at his own expense. Zhu Mo said: "After finishing filming in Morocco in 2018, we rested for several months, and in April 2019, we went to Paris to shoot, and Xiao Yue's figure can still be continuous. Feng Xiaoyue: Actually, I knew very early on that I had to learn Akkadine. I was mentally prepared to enter a distant and unknown world. Language is indeed a very useful tool, and Akkadine became the basis for me to play the role of Murong Jaylen, helping me to better enter the role. As for how to learn, it is to practice all the time and use it anytime and anywhere, just like learning any language.
Yangcheng Evening News: When you were a child, you used to go to primary school in Sichuan, and this time shooting in Chongqing, did you recall the time when you were a child? What is the deepest impression of the Sichuan-Chongqing region?
Feng Xiaoyue: I knew early on that I was going to shoot in Chongqing, and I thought it was very interesting. Chongqing is a sci-fi city, the mountains and fog here are dreamy, but the whole city is very modern, with a CyberPunk (cyberpunk) feeling. Also, this time I also found that when I want to speak the dialect over there, I can get started very quickly.
Yangcheng Evening News: My mother is a mime artist, and you also chose to major in theater when you were in college. When did you find yourself enjoying acting?
Feng Xiaoyue: It took me a little time to enjoy the performance. When I was a child, I saw my mother do a lot of hard work in the troupe, but she was very enthusiastic, which also infected me, so I naturally followed her footsteps to start performing. However, there are many things to learn about acting, and there is a long-term dialogue with myself, and the competition in the industry is very fierce, until recent years I have really liked acting. My current state is an unprecedented love of acting.
Yangcheng Evening News: In addition to acting, you are also a guitarist and musician. What does it mean to you to perform and make music? When will the solo album be released?
Feng Xiaoyue: In the past, music was more like a piece of pure land of my own, but I spent a lot of time filming, and I didn't settle down to do this.
