On June 30, the Propaganda Department of the Harbin Municipal CPC Committee, the Shuangcheng District CPC Committee, the Shuangcheng District Government, and the Harbin 35-General Cultural Museum invited the children and families of 258 founding generals to shuangcheng to visit the former site of the headquarters of the Northeast Democratic United Army (the predecessor of Siye) with the main purpose of inheriting the spirit of the founding generals and carrying forward the red culture. While remembering the great achievements of the general, the spirit of the general and the red culture will be carried forward through the influence of the children and their families.

According to reports, the Twin Cities are important towns in the Liberation War and have special endowments of red cultural resources. During the Liberation War, the famous Xinkailing Campaign, the Three Lower Jiangnan Campaigns, the Sibao Linjiang Campaign, the Autumn Offensive, the Winter Offensive, the Summer Offensive, and the Liaoshen Campaign were all commanded and completed here. The Twin Cities were also the cradle of the founding generals, and of the 1614 founding generals, 520 were from the Northeast Democratic Coalition Army (Siye). More than 100,000 people in the twin cities have enthusiastically supported the front line, and more than 10,000 people have fought in the south, making outstanding contributions to the founding of New China. During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, more than 5,000 people from the Twin Cities entered the Korean War to fight. In 2008 and 2012, twin cities were awarded the honorary title of National Model City of Double Support twice.

It has been learned that the main guests who visited the former site of the headquarters of the Northeast Democratic Coalition Army (the predecessor of Siye) included Zhu Xinhua, granddaughter of Marshal Zhu De, Xiao Kai, daughter of General Xiao Jinguang, Liu Yuhong, daughter of General Liu Yalou, Li Yabin, son of General Li Tianyou, Chen Zaiqun, daughter of General Chen Xilian, and Tang Junyan, daughter of General Tang Liang, and 258 children and family members of 132 generals.
