(This time is mainly to introduce the hardware facilities that need to be prepared, in order to facilitate everyone to search and consult later, how to operate in the specific breeding process, precautions I will share separately in detail in my subsequent article.) ）
First, home essentials
1. Food.
Under 3 months: Prepare some young rabbit food and alfalfa grass, this rabbit food has nothing to recommend, you can buy it with rabbit sellers or buy regular products online.
3-6 months: reduce the amount of alfalfa grass and gradually add Timothy grass (it is recommended to buy dried ones with more leaves).
More than 6 months: Eat Timothy grass completely (just pick the grass, don't pick the type), you can also buy some Timothy grass granules to feed.
2. Rabbit cage. There are many online and many supporting facilities. According to actual experience, the size of the cage is strongly recommended not less than (48*30*33cm), of course, the larger the better, the cage is best to buy a plate at the bottom, you can pick up poop, food scraps, etc. for easy care. If it is an Angolan giant rabbit, it has to be configured according to the size of the dog. (Although there are many set things that go with the cage, I personally feel that it is not enough and practical, so it is recommended to buy them separately)
3. Kettle. It is directly recommended to buy a hanging type, ball (note that it is not a spring), the size of 1000mL, otherwise adding water is really troublesome, if you forget it is still very dangerous. Also be careful not to buy it for cats and dogs, otherwise rabbits can't drink it... (Rabbits that are 3 or 4 months old can first use the small pot given by the cage, after all, the mouth is small)
4. Food box. You can buy a food bowl and a straw rack in one place in the cage, saving space (note that buying a bite-proof is the kind with thicker edges), and I have tried many other styles, which are not easy to use and not recommended.
5. Toilet. The small cage can be triangular, the large can be cuboidal, try to choose with drawers, easy to clean every day.
6. Teething sticks. Generally, you can grind your teeth while eating Timothy grass, but it is also recommended to buy some for rabbits to gnaw. Sweet bamboo, apple branches, teething sticks are all available, mainly to see what the rabbit likes.
7. Nail clippers. Just buy a small size, and cat's can also be used.
8. Hair comb. It is recommended to have a close-toothed one and a slightly wide-toothed one.
9. Keep the rabbit nest warm. Some cold places need to be prepared in winter (no heating places), or sometimes bad weather can also be used, but also to provide a private space for rabbits to hide.
10. Foot mat. It may be that the cage is given softer, and the rabbit is easy to bite, and it is recommended to configure hard plastic materials (after the test glue is not good, it will also bite thinly)
2. Upgrade options
1. Toys. Grass balls, puppets and more
2. Snacks. Dried vegetables, dried fruits, etc
3. Medicine. (Don't self-medicate), because I searched for pet hospitals that could treat rabbits, and then I went to other cities to find the corresponding doctor for consultation and prepared some medicine, just in case. If you can operate like me in the same situation as me, the specific medicine is not recommended, please consult a pet doctor for details.
4. Tow rope. Pay attention to the size when buying, too big or too small, it is recommended to buy the rabbit when it is big.
5. Go out bags. It is also recommended that the rabbit be larger and then buy, it is best to choose one with a kettle, otherwise there is no way to go out and be thirsty.
6. Diapers. It can be placed in the toilet or in a bag.
7. Deodorizing wood pellets. It can be sprinkled in the toilet to absorb the smell of urine, and it is no problem to take care of it frequently every day.
8. Sticky wool device. Without this possibility, you have rabbit hair on your body every day, hahaha.
9. Toilet cleaner. You can buy a special one, you can also use toilet cleaner, I use oxalic acid (cheap and easy to use).
10. Rabbit cage chassis film. Padded on the chassis for easy cleaning.
11. Dried dandelion. When the urine is yellow, it may be on fire, eat some dandelion to reduce inflammation, and go to the fire.
12. Hair cream. If you find that there is hair in the poop, you need to feed a little, hair cream or papaya grains.
