Two years ago, due to the release of the movie "Rescue Mr. Wu", the kidnapping case of Wu Ruofu that occurred in early 2004 was widely mentioned again, and director Ding Sheng once explained that the reduction degree of "Rescue Mr. Wu" for Wu Ruofu's kidnapping case was basically about 70%, which was basically reliable from the story structure, but many details were still a lot worse.

Speaking of the "Wu Ruofu kidnapping case", the author believes that there are two magical points that must be said, one is that in the face of gangsters with a large number of weapons, the entire process of capturing and rescuing hostages has not been shot, which is magical. The other is that Beijing Television's "When the Rule of Law is In Progress" participated in the whole process of cracking the case at the first time, and the host Xu Tao and the photojournalist rushed into the kidnapping scene after the commando team. In particular, Xu Tao's words given to Wu Ruofu at the first time he was rescued: "Life will always hold hands with you", which is very in place.
Fifteen years have passed since the Wu Ruofu kidnapping case, and many details have changed after being disseminated on the Internet, so the author will review some of the details of this case based on the video of Beijing Television's "When the Rule of Law is in Progress" and the movie "Rescue Mr. Wu".
First, before the crime
Born in 1962 in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang, Wu Ruofu graduated from the People's Liberation Army Academy of Arts in 1983 and was assigned to the General Political Drama Troupe, and was transferred to the Central Experimental Drama Theater in 1998. That is to say, from entering the People's Liberation Army Academy of Arts in 1979, Wu Ruofu has been in the army for nearly two decades, which has a profound impact on his performance in the kidnapping case.
Now many viewers may not know much about Wu Ruofu, but at the end of the last century and the beginning of this century, he was a first-line actor in the domestic film and television industry, and the "Holding Hands" starring him and Jiang Wenli Yu Feihong was no less popular than the household name "Longing" at that time. He also played many military and police roles, and he was no stranger to firearms.
In 2002, before the incident, Wu Ruofu also had a serious injury incident, he was in a fight with someone else while eating with a restaurant, and he was seriously injured and hospitalized for rescue, and even the negotiated TV drama role was forced to be replaced. What surprised people about this incident was that Wu Ruofu chose to be private, which also made the rumors of the "Wu Ruofu kidnapping case" fly all over the sky after the incident.
As for the first offender in this case, Wang Lihua, although he is small and his appearance is not impressive, he has a bad record since childhood, and was sentenced to nine years in prison for robbing 20,000 yuan, and met a group of co-offenders in prison and developed them into his own accomplices and subordinates. Half a year before Wu Ruofu's case, he kidnapped and killed a local rich second generation, received a ransom of three million, and less than half a year later squandered the money and waited for the opportunity to commit the crime again.
They failed to kidnap the brother of the second generation of the rich again, and then locked their eyes on the rich people who drove luxury cars such as BMW Mercedes-Benz, and the day before the crime they kidnapped a young man who drove a Mercedes-Benz sports car, Du Qingjiang, but found that this person was a borrowed car and had no money, so they continued to lock their eyes on luxury cars.
2. The scene of the crime
At two o'clock in the morning of February 3, 2004, Wang Lihua and several others kidnapped Wu Ruofu near the Leopard Hao Bar in Beijing's Chaoyang District.
This leopard hao bar is very famous in Sanlitun, and it is rumored that this place was once the industry in which a bearded director of CCTV invested, so many people in the Beijing entertainment industry will go there to consume, and over time they have formed a fixed meeting place for entertainment circle people.
There are many theories about why Wang Lihua kidnapped Wu Ruofu, one of which is that Wang Lihua is actually looking for someone in a car, and they don't know that it is Wu Ruofu, they usually don't watch TV, they don't know him at all, until when they stuffed Wu Ruofu into the back seat of the car, a gangster said: This guy seems to be Zhang Tielin.
The author believes that this statement should be the most reliable, judging from Wang Lihua's daily behavior trajectory, they are really enough to know Wu Ruofu. Moreover, Du Qingjiang, who they kidnapped the day before, also started from the luxury car. Before kidnapping Wu Ruofu, they had targeted a Big Ben, but the car watcher told them that there were three people on the Big Ben, and they gave up and instead set their sights on Wu Ruofu's BMW.
But later, some media, including Beijing Television, adopted the version that Wang Lihua originally targeted Zhang Tielin, but because Zhang Tielin did not go to the bar that day, they mistakenly regarded Wu Ruofu, who drove the same car, as Zhang Tielin. The author believes that this statement has certain logical problems, and Wang Lihua's consistent style does not seem to match, and Zhang Tielin also denies that he has the habit of going to the Leopard Hao Bar to drink.
In "Rescue Mr. Wu", Mr. Wu played by Andy Lau and Cheng Zong, played by Na Wei, seem to be very cooperative with the gangsters pretending to be policemen, but in fact, Wu Ruofu, who has been a soldier, and chen Yong, a friend producer, found out at the beginning that Wang Lihua's people were wrong, and the police uniforms they wore were very messy and talked with bits and pieces, and they didn't look like policemen at first. Therefore, Wu Ruofu had a fight with the other party at the scene, Wang Lihua they pulled out a pistol and loaded it, Wu Ruofu, who had been a soldier, judged from the voice of the breech that it was a real gun, he was worried about hurting Chen Yong, so they agreed to cooperate, and the gangsters took him hostage and got into the car and sped away. Chen Yong chose to call the police.
Third, the stalemate
In the whole process of solving the case, most of the "Rescue Mr. Wu" has been restored, and the basic process of solving the case is not much different from the facts, and even the direct dialogue between the deputy director of the Public Security Bureau who sat in command and Wang Lihua, who was arrested, has been restored: Now is to give you time, but also not to give you time.
Because the real-life arrest process is relatively not so large, director Ding Sheng added several imaginary scenes to the film, such as Zhang Hua's imaginary robbery of the bank played by Wang Qianyuan, the imaginary gunfight picture of the policeman played by Liu Ye, and of course, the imaginary gun-grabbing picture of Mr. Wu, played by Andy Lau. This is the director's little cleverness, but also a helpless move.
The details of Wang Lihua's arrest are slightly different from the movie, he actually had time to detonate the loose grenade in his hand, but in the instant before he was thrown down, he chose to give up, that is, instigated, otherwise the grenade would really cause a lot of casualties.
After being arrested, although Wang Lihua's performance also has a pretentious and relaxed side, it is far less chaotic than Wang Qianyuan in the movie. As for the section where he has a wooden key hidden in his crotch, it is indeed true.
At the same time, Wu Ruofu ushered in the darkest moment of his life, he did not expect at first that the other party would really tear up the ticket, so his expression was still very calm. Wang Lihua's evaluation is that Wu Ruofu is the hardest among the people he has kidnapped, and he has always been able to maintain a calm mind and communicate with the gangsters, and he is even willing to pay for Du Qingjiang, who has no money, to redeem himself together. Unlike the movie, Wu Ruofu was not married at the time, his sister was abroad, his brother was abroad, and he basically hid these things from the gangsters.
As in the movie, Wu Ruofu did find a chance to get a gun, and the gangsters put the gun next to him, but Wu Ruofu had chains and nine locks tied to his body, so he gave up the risk after intense thinking. In the movie, Andy Lau's imagination is used to exaggerate this detail.
In the movie, Andy Lau sang a song "Joker", in fact, Wu Ruofu sang a lot of songs that day, and even Teresa Teng's songs, but afterwards he and Du Qingjiang recalled together, both of them were deeply impressed by the "Joker", so director Ding Sheng arranged this "Joker".
However, in the end, Wu Ruofu still knew the inevitable end of his death, so he was discouraged and could only wait for the arrival of the last moment in confusion.
Fourth, rescue
Wang Lihua and his accomplices agreed that the time was 12 o'clock at night (changed to 9 p.m. in the movie), after which the accomplices would tear up the tickets and retreat. The time when the public security bureau arrived at the hostage detention place and rescued them was around 10:50 p.m., when several kidnappers were drowsy in the house, while Wu Ruofu and Du Qingjiang were all discouraged. At this point, director Ding Sheng has dramatized and put the rescue moment at the last minute, which is a film creation technique, and there is nothing wrong with it.
Before launching the operation, Cao Zhigang of the criminal police team confirmed that he was the first to rush in, and Cao Zhigang remembered that someone had told the camera reporter of Beijing Television Station: Follow this person, he may not be able to come back for a while.
Cao Zhigang and his comrades-in-arms still did not give the gangsters a chance to move, they did not waste a shot to rescue the hostages, at that moment Wu Ruofu's expression was confused and unbelievable, we can see through the camera of Beijing Television that he did not seem to believe that he would be rescued.
This confused expression Andy Lau restored in the movie.
It wasn't until he sat in the car that he was rescued and returned, that Wu Ruofu, who was relieved, opened the conversation box, saying that it was like a dream just now, like a lifetime away.
5. Follow-up
There are many follow-up things, and I will only say three details
One is that after the incident, many media spread it everywhere, and even some of Wu Ruofu's peers still bothered to analyze the reasons for Wu Ruofu's accident from the perspective of Wu Ruofu's personality and personality, and there were rumors that his car was found in Yanqing.
In fact, Wang Lihua and Wu Ruofu did not have any intersection before, and Wu Ruofu's car had been parked in front of the Leopard Hao Bar since the beginning of the crime and had not moved. It can be seen how irresponsible some of the media at that time were.
The other is that Wu Ruofu once wanted to go to the detention center to bring Wang Lihua a cigarette. Because he wanted to smoke when he was imprisoned, but he did not like the brand smoked by the kidnappers, Wang Lihua sent his accomplices out to buy him a pack, so Wu Ruofu wanted to give Wang Lihua a cigarette at the end, but was stopped by Cao Zhigang, who thought it was unnecessary.
In the movie, this detail was replaced by director Ding Sheng to buy apples, but in the end, Andy Lau really sent a basket of apples to Wang Qianyuan
In fact, in 2004, some people wanted to make this movie, but Wu Ruofu refused. The director at that time, Ding Sheng, was still a director who made advertising films, but after reading the report, he also thought that this matter was worth shooting.
Ten years later, Ding Sheng filmed "Police Story 2013", he met Cao Zhigang when he went to the police station to experience life, Cao Zhigang said that he still meets With Wu Ruofu several times a year, and the two are already very good friends. Ding Sheng remembered about making a movie again, and with the help of Cao Zhigang, Ding Sheng's soft grinding and hard bubble finally impressed Wu Ruofu.
Ding Sheng initially considered letting Wu Ruofu play himself, but Wu Ruofu refused. Ding Sheng also thought it was inappropriate after consideration, Wu Ruofu could not find feelings at all in a situation where everyone else was an actor and only himself was a real person, and Wu Ruofu did not want to relive the nightmare. In the end, they chose Toy Lau to star, and Wu Ruofu chose to play his life-saving benefactor Cao Zhigang.
Finally, at the end of the year after the incident, Wu Ruofu met Liu Sha, who was 22 years old at the time, a professional dancer who played Green Sleeve in "Zhenguan Long Song". Two years later, the two got married, and at the wedding scene, the couple did not have a ring and a wedding dress, and appeared in front of their friends wearing a casual dress.
At the wedding scene, Wu Ruofu invited the police who rescued him that year, as well as Xu Tao, the host of Beijing Satellite TV's "When the Rule of Law is in Progress", who witnessed the whole process, and some friends in the circle. After that, he gradually reduced his workload, had a daughter, and the family of three had more time to enjoy the fun. The author thinks that after this incident, Wu Ruofu may also have understood a lot of things.
On the Internet, it was rumored that Wang Lihua was smiling and squinting when he was tried, and many people thought that this person's expression looked very fierce and atmospheric, in fact, in the words of those who knew him, this grandson was a good face, and his expressions were all pretended to earn face. If he was a real cow X, why didn't he dare to detonate the grenade in the first place?
