
Recently, South Korean telecom giant KT Corp announced that it will open its first virtual reality (VR) theme park in Seoul, aiming to lay out this emerging field and become a leader in this field.
Named "VRIGHT", the VR theme park is located in The New Village in western Seoul and is expected to officially open to the public in early March this year. The theme park will offer visitors a variety of VR content as well as 3D simulation experiences.
At the VR theme park, KT said, visitors can watch VR videos and enjoy racing, sledding, space travel, and other sports and leisure VR experiences.
In addition, KT also said that they will cooperate with GS Retail, a subsidiary of LG Group, to operate the theme park.
It is worth mentioning that visitors to the theme park during the working day in March will receive a 30% discount on tickets.
In the future, KT also plans to build similar theme parks across Seoul in the future to provide the most advanced VR experience, with the goal of generating 10 billion won (about 59.22 million yuan) in the field by 2020.
