IT House March 5 news, in the past two weeks, there have been rumors that Sony's PS6 console will continue to be led by PS5 designer Mark Cerny. Most of these rumors stem from a new patent by Seni that describes a way to accelerate ray tracing on PS5, but further analysis suggests that this may be for PS6 rather than PS5.

This rumor about the PS6 console design is at least an educated guess. Several users on Twitter shared rumors that Seni was dominating the PS6's design. @PS6Countdown said in a tweet that Seni was working hard for the PlayStation brand that was "most likely a PS6," while another user said he heard pretty much from a trusted source. However, IT House advises everyone to be cautious about these rumors.

A more substantial inference comes from Digital Foundry's "Dictator" on Resetera's website, where he clarified that Seni's patent is not based on PS5 hardware. He wrote, "This patent has an RT unit (ray tracing unit) like Intel or NVIDIA, while PS5 and AMD do not have such units on any of the released hardware." This is for future iterations of PlayStation. This "iteration" may refer to the PS6 or PS5 Pro/Slim.

Seni has served as the lead system architect for the PS4, PlayStation Vita, and PS5, so it's no surprise that he led the PS6 design.

According to Sony documents, the PS6 release date will be after 2027, and it is said that "The Last of Us 3" may also land on PS6.
