What is Hakone Ekiden:
One of the three major relay races for university students in Japan, the full name is "Tokyo Hakone Reciprocating College Student Relay Walk". The film "Strong Wind" based on Miura Aster's novel "Strong Wind Blowing" is based on this game.
A total of 21 teams were selected from the Kanto Region University in Japan. Among them, 10 were in the top 10 of the previous year's competition, the other 10 were in the top 10 of the qualifiers, and the last one was selected by the Kanto Students' Federation from other schools to form the Kanto Student Union, and Yuki Kawauchi, who has the strongest civil servant, has twice represented the Kanto students.
The race runs on January 2 and 3 every year and requires a total of about 217 kilometers to be completed, with a total of 10 zones (5 outbound and 5 return). The outbound journey starts in front of the Yomiuri Shimbun in Otemachi, Tokyo, and ends at the entrance to the Lake Ashi parking lot in Hakone-cho, Kanagawa, and the return journey follows the original route.
