The most difficult zone in the whole race is also the most test of the runner's endurance and willpower. Due to the discomfort of his footsteps, the bamboo stone shangren of Qingxue University stopped twice in the middle. But fortunately, there was no danger, shortening the gap to 36 seconds. Kanagawa University fell from 3rd to 15th, heavily affecting the results of the second day.

Running in the 8th district for three consecutive years, winning the range for three consecutive years, and extending the lead to 6 minutes and 15 seconds, such a performance can be a graduation without regrets for Yuta Shimoda in the 4th grade.

Ward 9 (23.1km) Totsuka - 鹤见

As the gap widens, the most brutal scene in hakone's tale emerges. According to the rules, if the first runner cannot complete the handover within 20 minutes after the first runner passes, the school that has not been handed over will be arranged to leave in a unified manner, and the ribbon that symbolizes the spirit of the stagecoach and is passed down from day one to the team members will not be able to return to Tokyo. Matsunaga Takuma of Kokugakuin University was only 3 seconds away, failed to complete the relay, and watched his teammates leave in front of him, but he still held the ribbon in his hand.

For the relay race, the biggest significance is that you are not running alone, you are a member of the team, and there will always be a person waiting for you in the next baton.

The members of the Qingdao University had already stood in a row behind the finish line, and the former Jin supervisor shook hands and hugged each team member, and when Takami between the bridges turned into the last corner and gradually entered everyone's field of vision, everyone shouted his name "Takaya, Takaya..." in unison, congratulating Qingshan Gakuin University on its successful defense!

What is Hakone Ekiden:

One of the three major relay races for university students in Japan, the full name is "Tokyo Hakone Reciprocating College Student Relay Walk". The film "Strong Wind" based on Miura Aster's novel "Strong Wind Blowing" is based on this game.

A total of 21 teams were selected from the Kanto Region University in Japan. Among them, 10 were in the top 10 of the previous year's competition, the other 10 were in the top 10 of the qualifiers, and the last one was selected by the Kanto Students' Federation from other schools to form the Kanto Student Union, and Yuki Kawauchi, who has the strongest civil servant, has twice represented the Kanto students.

The race runs on January 2 and 3 every year and requires a total of about 217 kilometers to be completed, with a total of 10 zones (5 outbound and 5 return). The outbound journey starts in front of the Yomiuri Shimbun in Otemachi, Tokyo, and ends at the entrance to the Lake Ashi parking lot in Hakone-cho, Kanagawa, and the return journey follows the original route.

District 2 is a must for every school, because the longest distance shows the strength of the runners, also known as "Hana 2 District", all schools will put the strongest runners here.

Zone 5 is the hardest section in the whole stage, climbing 840 meters above sea level, all the way uphill, which is a greater challenge to the muscle strength and willpower of the runners. According to the setting of the format, the starting sequence of the return zone 6 is determined according to the order of the forward stroke, and it is carried out according to the time difference between each other. So the final time advantage of Zone 5 will translate to the start of the second day. The players who perform well in Zone 5 are called "Mountain Gods".
