From virtual to real, from Yunnan, Chinese to the world's brand effect, from haunting dreams to being in the arms of Shangri-La, I have an indescribable emotion stirring in my heart.
Shangri-La combines majesty and beauty, with a long history and rich national culture, giving birth to this beautiful land of heroes traveled by the Red Army. Snow-capped peaks and valleys, temples and prayer flags, forests and lakes embraced, and the savannah with wolf poison flowers is dotted with "three rivers flowing side by side".
It is a famous scenic tourist area, and her fame has a lot to do with a book. In 1933, British writer James S. In his novel The Vanishing Horizon, Hilton depicts this land of eternal peace and tranquility. After many people's arduous search for half a century, they finally stopped their tired steps on the magical Diqing Plateau, which has become a pure land of gods sought by the world. Visitors are often enchanted by the landscape. While studying at an international university, I borrowed this book from the library and read it carefully.
The leader of the Diqing detachment of the armed police, who came to pick us up, waited early in the airport waiting hall, which was still some distance away from the detachment, and the comrades of the detachment told me in the car that Diqing means "auspicious place" in Tibetan. Because it is located at the southeast edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the northern end of the southern section of the Hengduan Mountain Range, the hinterland of "three parallel rivers" has formed a unique landscape integrating snowmelt mountains, canyons, grasslands, alpine lakes, primeval forests and ethnic customs.
The highest peak in Yunnan Province, Kawakarpo, is magnificent, holy and mysterious. He told us that in Shangri-La County alone, there are as many as 470 snow-capped mountains above 4,000 meters above sea level. The canyons crisscross the gorge, the most famous of which are the Tiger Leaping Gorge, Balagzon and other Grand Canyons. There are also vast alpine grassland pastures, reckless primeval forests and scattered alpine lakes, making Diqing's natural landscape magical and ghostly. Thirteen ethnic groups, including Tibetan, Lisu, Han, Naxi, Yi, Bai and Hui, live here, are united and harmonious, and have maintained their own characteristics in traditional customs such as lifestyle, clothing, residential architecture and wedding etiquette, forming the unique folk customs of each ethnic group.
The special geographical location has created a mysterious and beautiful natural landscape. The beautiful scenery and unique ethnic customs combine to form a mysterious hideaway. Things in the world are so incomprehensible, God has left the most beautiful scenery here, and also left the most difficult living conditions here. It is the only Tibetan autonomous prefecture in Yunnan, with an average altitude of 3,380 meters, an average annual temperature of about 10 degrees Celsius, and an oxygen content of only 70% of the plains. Due to the harsh natural environment, the average life expectancy here is lower than that in the mainland. Under such extremely difficult conditions, there is a perennial life fighting an olive green, which is responsible for guarding, armed patrols of the city, and handling emergencies, stability and counter-terrorism.
Walking into the troops, a swarthy face, two plateau reds are particularly conspicuous. Lack of oxygen leads to purple and chapped lips, which is a special gift given by long-term stationing on the plateau. The leader of the detachment who came to visit the troops told us that most of these officers and men came from the hinterland, and after they went to the plateau, they overcame the unimaginable altitude sickness of ordinary people, challenged the limits of life, and settled here. When we went, the officers and soldiers had just finished their training and were learning the Tibetan language. The accompanying leader told me: "In order to arouse the officers and soldiers to love the Tibetan areas and the people in Tibetan areas, and to make every effort to maintain the political enthusiasm of stability in Tibetan areas, we have learned a Tibetan language every day, sang a Tibetan song every month, and learned to dance a Tibetan dance every quarter." Seeing our surprise, the leader of the detachment ordered a few soldiers to speak us a few words of commonly used Tibetan. Not to mention, if we hadn't seen it with our own eyes, it would be hard to imagine that it was our warriors who could speak such pure Tibetan. A few warriors danced a short Tibetan dance for us, and the Tibetan dance was also very authentic.

Due to the relative backwardness of the economy of the garrison and the limited financial resources of the troops, some facilities in the office buildings of the organs and the housing of cadres and non-commissioned officers have not been fully solved so far. However, under such conditions, the troops still persisted in actively doing good deeds, solving difficulties, and doing practical things for the masses in Tibetan areas; they successively donated more than 100,000 yuan to the masses, contributed 40,000 yuan to help eight poor students go to school, donated materials worth 80,000 yuan to the contact points for poverty alleviation, invested 210,000 yuan to help build the People's Armed Police Aimin Primary School and Labadi Primary School, and extensively carried out activities such as cleaning, clearing snow, making voluntary inspections, and publicizing the masses and winning over the masses. The detachment was successively awarded by the State Council, the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and the Yunnan Provincial Government as "Advanced Unit for National Unity and Progress", "Civilized Unit", "Advanced Collective for Supporting the Government and Loving the People" and "Advanced Collective for Spiritual Civilization Construction".
After inspecting the units, we visited the local leading comrades and the masses, and everyone was very excited to talk about this unit, and they all folded their fingers and introduced the achievements of this unit like a few treasures. It has brilliantly completed tasks such as fighting forest fires, fighting snow and disaster relief, maintaining stability in Tibetan areas, and security for the Olympic torch relay, and made every effort to maintain social stability during large-scale events such as Diqing's "Happy Shambhala", the Tibetan "Gedong Festival", and the Tibetan Native Ox New Year, especially successfully undertaking the safety and security of the "Khamba Art Festival" and "National Unity Festival" and the "4.24" rescue and rescue tasks in Deqin County. We have long known about some of the things said by local leading comrades, and some of them are the first time we have heard about them.
When saying goodbye, the local leading comrades took our hands and repeatedly expressed gratitude for the support and selfless dedication of the troops, praising them as a mighty and civilized army, and having this unit is a blessing for the people of Shangri-La. It can be seen that the relationship between the troops and the local government is very harmonious, and they have completely cared for this unit as a member of Shangri-La. Comrades of the military told us that in recent years, the local party committee and government have also taken the initiative to help the army solve many difficulties under the situation of financial difficulties.
Listening to the conversation of comrades in the military and the localities, I remembered the words of a great man: "The military and the people are united as one, let's see who can be the enemy in the world." The leader of the detachment, a native of Tibetans, has been working on the Diqing Plateau for more than 30 years since he joined the army, pouring a lot of effort into the building of the troops; in the course of undertaking the major temporary guard duties of the 11th Panchen Lama on March 27, 2006, when he inspected Diqing, he resolutely and successfully handled an unexpected situation, displayed a high political consciousness, and was highly praised by provincial and municipal leaders and unit chiefs.
The leader of the detachment was transferred from the interior to work on the Diqing Plateau, and the climate of the plateau had made him a complete highlander, and he had the opportunity to leave here, but he said that he could not do without the soldiers who shared happiness and hardships with him, and he was reluctant to bear this comradeship of guarding the Wind and Snow Plateau. It is precisely because of their group of the most lovely armed police officers and men of the new era that during the "March 14" incident, this became the most stable place in all Tibetan areas in the country.
The streets have just been lined with trees, and now is the best time to plant trees, the weather is suitable, and some of these trees have begun to wither. The leader of the detachment saw that we were curious and told us that although Diqing has good vegetation cover, it is all high-altitude plants, all of which grow naturally, and it is not an easy task to plant a tree. Most parts of Yunnan have a humid climate, and a single branch will survive, while in the plateau, planting a tree sometimes costs 5,000 yuan, which is not necessarily possible. Now they have explored a new way of planting trees, that is, when moving trees, the direction of the tree must remain in the original direction, only in this way, their survival rate is relatively high.

Due to historical reasons, Diqing's economy has been backward, with the deepening of reform and opening up, Diqing is focusing on strengthening the construction of Shangri-La tourism circle, and the famous brand effect and boutique awareness have prompted Diqing people to open the mountain gate with greater courage to embrace guests at home and abroad. Among the many tourist attractions in Diqing, the three rivers parallel flow, Blue Moon Valley, Tiger Leaping Gorge, the first bay of the Yangtze River, Meili Snow Mountain, Haba Snow Mountain, Baimangxue Mountain, Bita Sea, Napa Sea, Zhidu Lake, Mingyong Glacier, Songzanlin Temple, Dongzhulin Temple, Xiaozhongdian Grassland, Moon Bay Grand Canyon, Baishuitai, Shouguo Temple, Cizhong Catholic Church, Feilai Temple National Forest Park and other major attractions have converged into the swan song of Shangri-La's dream journey of natural harmony and exquisite lyricism.
The contribution of Tibetans to human culture is first and foremost manifested in the cultural connotation of filial piety and humility towards nature. Diqing people's cherishing of nature will be a blessing for hundreds of millions of people in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Lancang River and Nu River. The comrade of the detachment said: "As a loyal guardian of the party and the people, we must make our due contribution to the local social stability, economic development, and the people's peaceful and contented life, and let the special color of olive green be integrated into this beautiful scenery and add brilliance to Shangri-La." "Shangri-La is known for its tranquility, beauty and harmony, isn't the olive green of the armed police the brightest of these colors?
In a short day, Shangri-La left an infinitely beautiful impression in my heart, not only seeing the scenery of the snowy mountains and valleys of the plateau and the Tibetan customs, but also appreciating the idyllic scenery of the grassland "windblown grass and seeing cattle and sheep", and also saw the brilliant color of the olive green of the armed police on the harmonious plateau. When I left Shangri-La, the song "South of the Clouds" was playing in the car, and a heavenly voice came, which was the most emotional song I heard after I was transferred from Beijing to Yunnan to work——
The direction of my heart in the south of the clouds
The peacock flew to remember for a long time
