In accordance with relevant national laws and regulations, the Tencent WeChat Software License and Service Agreement and the WeChat Personal Account Use Specification, after verifying the evidence submitted by user complaints, WeChat will carry out stepwise treatment such as functional restrictions and account bans for accounts confirmed to have fraudulent behavior, depending on the degree of violation; Freezing of payment accounts that have been confirmed as fraudulent, etc.
Since 2023, WeChat has stepped through 35,312 accounts confirmed to have fraudulent behavior; 10,896 WeChat groups confirmed to have fraudulent behavior were treated with the restricted group function (group blocking).
WeChat said that it will strengthen the handling of online fraud in the future. At the same time, the platform will cooperate with the public security organs to carry out relevant work in accordance with the law to further crack down on evil gangs.
