Xu Chunzhong, born in 1947, is a native of Zhenhai, Zhejiang. Professor at Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, PhD supervisor at Donghua University and University of California. He learned painting from his father at an early age and studied under famous artists such as Yu Yunji and Yan Wenliang. 68 years to the farm to cut the queue. Xu Chun learned to paint from his father at an early age. When he was 5 years old, he participated in the Shanghai Children's Palace Fine Arts Group to learn painting and held a solo exhibition, and our beloved Ms. Song Qingling warmly encouraged him and inscribed the exhibition title "Little Painter Xu Chunzhong Painting Exhibition". Xu Chunzhong has a solid foundation in realism, integrates Chinese and foreign painting techniques, and is good at both European oil painting and Russian oil painting, delicate and vivid, rich in color, and has a very broad vision. This stems from his first-rate artistic education and education. He was admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1979 and received his master's degree in 1981. In 1985, he was admitted to Tokyo University of the Arts in Japan, and received his doctorate in 1989. He is a scholar-type painter and a painter-type scholar, who became a professor at Fudan University after returning from Japan in 1989, a doctoral supervisor and tenured professor at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1995, and now 67 years old, he teaches at the Shanghai Academy of Visual Arts and Donghua University.
