2023.2.21. Episode 162

Follow Yunnan National Highway 219 towards Dongxing, Guangxi. Today I walked to the Wudaokou Village Group in Hekou Yao Autonomous County, Yunnan. This small village is a border group on the mainland, with 60 villagers, a mixed Yao, Yi, and Han ethnic group. Located on the banks of the Red River, it is also a village group guarding the border. Across the Red River is Vietnam, and across the river we can see the Vietnamese flag on the White Tower of Vietnam, and we can also see Vietnamese women picking spicy 椒️ in the field. On this side, neatly arranged houses stand on the banks of the Red River, and ancient trees can be seen in the village. Across the Red River are small villages in Vietnam. In contrast, our great China is a big home and proud of my motherland. The county seat of Hekou Yao Autonomous County in Yunnan, across the Red River from Lao Cai City and Guliu City in Vietnam, is the only autonomous county in Yunnan Province with the Yao ethnic group as the main body. Because of the rain, we will be stationed on the Sino-Vietnamese border tonight, with our hearts facing the mainland and our backs to Vietnam.
