One winter morning, a little boy named James woke up to a snow-white exterior—it was snowing.
He cheerfully rushed downstairs into the garden and piled up a snowman...
At twelve o'clock in the middle of the night, he woke up, determined to see the snowman.
Just when he opened the door, he couldn't believe his eyes - the snowman had come alive!
He politely took off his hat and introduced himself, and James was overjoyed.
The two men laughed at each other and embarked on a magical journey...

Remember the "Snowman" cartoon I watched as a child?
In 2020, with the release of the latest Snowman commemorative coin from the Royal Mint, our minds are once again drawn back to our childhood.
The story of "Snowman" is a children's picture book published in 1978 by the famous British illustrator, cartoonist and picture book author Raymond Brigg. The book has been a bestseller for more than 40 years since its publication, And The Snowman has become a household name in british children's literature, and Raymond has won the Kate Greenway Award, the highest honor for British children's literature, for three consecutive times. In 1982, the adaptation of the animated film of the same name "Snowman" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
Born in London in 1934, Raymond Brigg is adept at expressing serious themes in comic strips. His comic style is soft and delicate, creating an atmosphere and expressing emotions through different warm colors. He eventually became one of the most influential figures in British children's literature.
In order to commemorate the classic children's literature story of "The Snowman", the Royal Mint has cooperated with The Yeti Enterprises Limited since 2018 to invite Robin Shaw, the director of "The Snowman and the Dog", to co-create the 40th anniversary of the Snowman 50p series of commemorative coins. At the end of 2020, as Christmas approaches, the little protagonist James and his chubby snowman friends under Raymond Brigg's brush are once again returning to people's vision.

In 2016, he directed his first animated feature film We're Going Bear Hunting, based on classic children's literature by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxonbury. In 2017, he designed a series of anime footage for Paddington Bear 2.
