On April 16, the 43rd Annasi International Animation Film Festival announced the shortlist of films.
The opening film was identified as The Humble Hero The First Series of the Puloka Short Film Theater Series, an animated film co-directed by Hiromasa Mibayashi, Yoshiyuki Hyakuse, and Akihiko Yamashita. A total of eight animations were shortlisted for the feature film competition, including "White Snake: Origins" directed by Wong Ka-yasu and Zhao Ji, "Birthday Paradise" directed by Keiichi Hara, and "If I Could Ride the Wind and Waves with You" directed by Masaaki Yuasa. In addition, animations such as Toy Story 4 and Human Disqualification, which are shortlisted for the festival, will also have their world premieres.
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival was founded in 1960 by the relocation of the Official Section of the Cannes International Film Festival to the eastern French city of Annes. The Annecy International Animated Film Festival is recognized as the highest benchmark in the animation industry, known as the "Oscar of Animation" and "Animation Cannes". This year's Annecy Film Festival will take place from 10 to 15 June.
