The Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, which came into effect on November 1, 2021, lists biometrics, specific identities, medical health, financial accounts, whereabouts and other information as sensitive personal information. The questionnaire survey data shows that financial accounts are the most well-known personal information of the elderly, 78.29% of the interviewed elderly are the most sensitive to the security of financial accounts, nearly 60% of the elderly recognize that medical and health information is personal information, and the most overlooked personal information is biometrics.

Hospitals and pharmacies are still the main channels for the elderly to purchase epidemic prevention materials and drugs, 40.31% of respondents said that they are purchased by their children, only 5.43% of the elderly can buy drugs in Internet pharmacies on their own, and 1.55% of the interviewed elderly will choose to buy drugs in WeChat groups and links from unknown sources, and their awareness of prevention needs to be strengthened.
The main channel for the elderly to obtain epidemic prevention and health knowledge is still news reports, accounting for 46.51%; followed by popular science articles shared by children and hospital experts; There are also some health knowledge from unofficial public accounts, short videos and sharing with the elderly around them.
