New ideas, new selves

author:Qingming WQ

As William James said, "People can change their lives by changing their mindset, and this is arguably the greatest discovery of our generation." "As long as you think this way in your heart, you can show it in your actions. By discarding outdated ideas and ideas, and constantly absorbing new creative thinking full of ideals, love and kindness, you can slowly reinvent your life.

A person's thoughts can lead his life, to failure or misfortune, to success and happiness. Your world is not entirely determined by your surroundings, many times it is dominated by your habitual way of thinking. Remember the proverb of the ancient thinker Mark Aurelius: "Thoughts determine life." ”

Ralph Waldo Emerson, the father of American civilization, is said to be the wisest man in American history. He once said, "A man's life is the things he thinks all day." ”

A famous psychologist said: "What kind of person you imagine yourself all day long, you are likely to become that person, this is one of the most significant trends in life." ”

People believe that the so-called thought is actually the source of all motivation. It is easy to judge a person's abilities by the strength he has shown. Ideas can be grounded in reality or detached from reality. Just as one thought can depress you, just as a different thought may motivate you to move forward. Your thoughts create an environment around you that aligns with your subconscious, so when you change your mind, it's possible to create a different picture. Ideas originate from the environment, but they transform the environment. For example, if a force is applied in a positive direction to an object, the object will produce a displacement in a positive direction. In the same way, positive thoughts create an atmosphere around you that is conducive to positive results, while negative thoughts create an environment conducive to undesirable outcomes.

If you want to transform the environment around you, you must first change your thinking mode, don't just passively accept the conditioned stimulation of the unfavorable environment, you need to conceive an ideal blueprint in your mind, and be confident and unswerving to achieve every detail. Stick to it, be determined, pray for it, fight for it, and you will eventually achieve it according to your own ideas.

This is one of the greatest laws of the universe. I wish I had understood this at a young age, but in fact, it took me a long time to finally understand the essence of this. Knowing the power of faith, I think this can be regarded as one of the most meaningful discoveries of my life.

This law clearly and unambiguously explains to us the fact that if you think from a pessimistic and negative perspective, then you will get pessimistic results; But if you think in terms of positivity, you will get positive results. This theorem may seem simple, but it has always been the most solid foundation for people's success. To sum it up in 4 words: faith - success.

I remember that there was an interesting episode about this truth. A few years ago, I joined Lowell Thomas, Cape Town Ed Reganbeck, Blanche Rick, Raymond Thornberg, and others to start a magazine called Signpost, which focuses on spiritual self-help. The main purpose of this magazine is to introduce the successful experience of some people to the public, and use their stories of overcoming difficulties with the help of faith to teach people how to successfully overcome psychological fears and reduce the impact of adverse environments. And hope to help readers overcome obstacles, eliminate negativity, and achieve ultimate success. We want to teach people how to use faith to defeat so-called disadvantages.

On the other hand, it is a non-profit, non-sectarian publication in which various faiths coexist. It preaches the existence of God and believes that our nation is built on faith in God and will.

It tells readers that the United States is the first country in history to be founded on a clear religious belief, and that only by maintaining that faith can the spirit of freedom and democracy continue to flourish.

At the beginning of the magazine, Raymond Thornberg as publisher and me as editor had no extra money to secure, everything started with faith. Our initial office was located in a small village in New York called Pauling. In the attic of the grocery store, a borrowed typewriter, a few rickety chairs are all our possessions, and of course, we have a strong mind and strong conviction to back it up. Slowly, our orders reached 25,000 and the future seems bright. However, on a silent night, a fire came without warning, and in just one hour all the finances of the publishing house were burned out, including all the orders. Unfortunately, we hadn't had time to prepare any copies at the time. Lowell Thomas, a loyal and capable patron of Signpost since its inception, reported our tragedy on the radio. As a result, we soon received nearly 30,000 orders, including all existing subscribers and many new subscribers.

When our order reached 40,000 copies, the cost of issuing impurities also began to rise. In order to make it more accessible to more people, magazines are sold at prices below cost. However, because the actual cost was higher than originally budgeted, we faced a serious economic crisis. For a while, we thought it might not be able to continue publishing.

At this critical juncture, we all convened a meeting in a gloomy atmosphere, and I believe that there is no more pessimistic, negative and discouraging meeting. Where can I raise a sum of money to tide over this difficult time? We even thought of ways to cut flesh to mend sores, and a feeling of weakness filled the whole brain.

We invited a distinguished guest to the conference. We invited her because she donated $2,000 to our magazine during the last signpost ribbon cutting, so we're excited to see her helping us with some financial help this time. But no pie fell from the sky. The lady did not donate a penny, but provided us with something a thousand times more than money.

I remember that throughout the meeting, the lady remained silent until the last moment when she spoke: "Gentlemen, I think you must be expecting me to donate this time, and I want to help you, but I will never give you another penny of funding, because this will not help you, anyway, it will push the operation of the entire magazine to a deeper abyss." This time," she continued, "I'll give you something a thousand times more important than money." ”

Everyone was amazed and couldn't imagine anything more valuable than liquidity at this time.

"I had an idea," she told us, "that I thought we should come up with a constructive creative solution that would help bring the whole magazine back to life." ”

In desperation, we wondered in disappointment: "How is it possible to take an idea to pay a small bill?" ”

Don't be nervous, in fact, it was that idea that ended up helping us pay off all our debts. Throughout the world, almost all achievements begin with an extraordinary idea. With creativity, and with the power of faith, people can find various ways to realize their creativity, which is the way to success.

"Let me illustrate, what is the problem you are facing now? You lack everything, you lack money, you lack subscribers, you lack equipment, and not only that, you lack ideas, you lack courage. Why do you lack everything? That's because the source of your mind has dried up. Poor thinking can only produce poor results. Blindly emphasizing that you lack certain hardware conditions and lack of environmental support will only make you constantly lose your creativity. Without creativity, how do you have the motivation to increase the impact of Signpost? From the current point of view, you have been working hard, but unfortunately you have not been able to do the most important thing. If you do this well, you will have the tendency of the tiger to descend the mountain and succeed. The thing I'm talking about is learning to think positively, in other words, your mind is still in a pale state.
