Recently, the Mercedes-Benz Group announced a new senior management adjustment plan.
Philipp Schiemer, current CEO of AMG and head of the premium car group, will leave Mercedes-AMG. He will join Mercedes-Benz AG on April 1, 2023 in a new role where he will be responsible for developing high-end customer and community management functions. Philipp Schiemer was appointed CEO of Mercedes-AMG in 2020.
Philipp Schiemer will be succeeded by Michael Schiebe, who will take up his duties on March 1, 2023, and will report directly to Markus Schäfer, Member of the Mercedes-Benz Group Management Board, Chief Technology Officer, and responsible for development and purchasing.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of AMG, Philipp Schiemer served as Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff of the Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Board of Management and Director of Corporate Staff.
In addition to the above two executive job adjustments. After 34 years at Mercedes-Benz, Wolf-Dieter Kurz will end his role as Head of Product Strategy and Transformation on March 31, 2023. Oliver Thöne, current Head of Production Planning for Mercedes-Benz Vehicles, will succeed him as Head of Product Strategy and Transformation on March 1, 2023.
