In the fourth quarter of 2022, global smartphone shipments decreased by 17% year-over-year. Full-year 2022 shipments fell 11% to below 1.2 billion units. According to Canalys, Apple still regained the top spot in the market in the fourth quarter and gained its highest quarterly market share ever, reaching 25%. Although Samsung ranked second with a 20% market share in the quarter, it was also the largest manufacturer of shipments throughout the year. Despite the impact of the Indian market, Xiaomi's market share fell to 11% in the fourth quarter, but it still ranked third. OPPO and vivo are among the top five, accounting for 10% and 8% of the market share, respectively.
