1. These Rules of Engagement in no way restrict you from taking appropriate action to protect yourself or your forces.

2. Rules

◆ You have the right to use force to protect yourself from attack or from the threat of attack;

◆ If the enemy opens fire on you, you must quickly and effectively counterattack to prevent its hostile behavior;

◆ Once the US military is attacked by the enemy, it should use the minimum force necessary to counterattack according to the actual situation and the degree of threat;

You should not (may not) take someone else's property to complete your task;

◆ The detention of civilians for reasons of security or self-defence is permitted.

Third, remember

The United States is not at war;

◆ Treat all people with courtesy and respect;

◆ Respect the local customs and traditions of the host country;

• Use the minimum necessary force to carry out the task;

◆ Always ready to act in self-defense.
