In the third quarter, Marcelin attacked quickly and was shockingly blocked by Morant. Morant then broke through and assisted Aldama's dunk to give the Grizzlies an 83-63 lead. Morant smashed Jaylen Smith to give the Grizzlies a 97-79 lead in the third quarter. Bane came up for eight straight points in the fourth quarter, Clark picked it up, and then Tyus Jones led the team to run 8-0 to give the Grizzlies a 34-point lead at 120-86. Duarte scored nine straight points in 40 seconds, but to no avail.
