Tjørnuvík, the northernmost village on the island of Stremer in the Faroe Islands, is nestled in a bay, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea, with no other villages in sight. There are only 55 houses in the village and the total population is 71 people.

Standing in the village of Yornuvik will give you a great sense of tranquility, and the village's unbeatable location makes it one of the most popular destinations in the Faroe Islands. The winding road from the nearest village, Haldórsvík, to Jornuvik is quite narrow, driving along steep hills with magnificent scenery along the way. Jornuvik has a lovely beach and is the most popular surf spot in the Faroe Islands, from which you can see directly the must-see sights of the Faroe Islands: the Rising Sea Stacks and the Kaylin Sea Stacks. Many creeks cascade down the surrounding mountains, and the sight is especially impressive on rainy days.

Due to the height of the surrounding mountains, it will be cloudy in the village most of the time. You won't even see the sun in Jornuvik during the winter months, as it never reaches above the steep mountains.
