Rocket booster mechanism

The BZ-75 uses rocket boosters

The first thing to introduce to you is the "rocket booster" mechanism, which you may have seen on the BZ-176:

  • At the start of the battle, the rocket booster takes 5 seconds to prepare, and you can check its status in the indicator bar
  • After the preparation is complete, you can press the "X" key to activate the rocket booster

Please note that the rocket propulsion effect lasts for 10 seconds and can be used as many times as you want depending on the tank level. After the last rocket propulsion is completed, it will not be possible to replenish and use the rocket propulsion number again. When the rocket booster is activated, the tank will have difficulty turning and reversing, and you will not be able to cancel or pause the rocket booster while it is active. After the effect ends, you need to wait 4 seconds until the booster reloads.

Level 7: BZ-58

▲BZ-58

After understanding the rocket booster mechanism, let's look at the line. The first tank on the line of the new heavy tank line of the C series was the BZ-7 of 58 stage, which could use 3 rocket boosters. The BZ-58 can be used from 85 mm and 100 mm guns, with an 85 mm gun with an average damage of 220 points per shot and an average armor-piercing bullet penetration depth of 165/220 mm, making it a bit weaker as the main gun of a Class 7 heavy tank. But the 85-mm gun had a faster rate of fire, a higher DPM, and better gun control.

▲ The damage of a 100mm gun will be higher

The armor-piercing shell of the 100 mm gun has a single damage of 320 points, although it is lower than the average damage of the IS-2's 122 mm gun, but the BZ-58 100 gun has a penetration depth of 195/240 mm, which is better against advanced tanks, but the loading speed of this gun is slower, and the gun control is not good. The BZ-58 has a rare -10° depression angle, and with good turret defense, it is very suitable for "selling head" battles. In addition, the BZ-58's hull defense is poor, but the armor on the head of the hull has a large inclination, which can effectively bounce off enemy shells. This is still a "transition" tank that familiarizes everyone with the rocket booster, and you don't have to work on it.

Class 8: BZ-166

▲BZ-166

The next stage of the BZ-58 is the 8-stage BZ-166, which can use 4 rocket boosters. Unfortunately, the BZ-166 did not have a large-caliber gun like the BZ-176, but it did not use the development of the main gun. In its "whiteboard period", it can use an armor-piercing shell with an average damage of 420 points per shot of 122 mm caliber main gun, and its armor-piercing bullet penetration depth is as high as 221/270 mm, which makes the BZ-166 more stable than the BZ-176. However, the BZ-166's main gun control performance is also not very good, probably for its -10° depression angle and 420 points of damage per shot.

▲ The performance of the BZ-166 will be more stable

The BZ-166's defense is also remarkable, and its creative use of "corrugated" head armor makes it the first tank in World of Tanks to use this head. This "corrugated" head provided the BZ-166 with quite good frontal defense, and its turret frontal was also very good, only the hatch was the weak point. However, the head of the BZ-166 and the side of the hull are very classic weaknesses, and it is best to often rely on cover to cover here in actual combat. The maneuverability of the BZ-166 is not much improved compared to the BZ-58, and it is still relatively slow when the rocket booster is not turned on.

Class 9: BZ-68

▲BZ-68

The next stage of the BZ-166 is the BZ-9 of the 68th stage, which can use 5 rocket boosters. The BZ-68 also had only one 130 mm main gun available, which had an average damage of 530 points per shot of armor-piercing shells, and an average penetration depth of 248/315 mm was acceptable as a Tier 9 tank. However, the BZ-68's gun depression angle is only -8 degrees, which is slightly worse than the previous two tanks. Moreover, the aiming time, basic accuracy and gun expansion coefficient of the BZ-68 are not very good, and it needs to be at close range to exert the power of this 130mm caliber gun.

▲ The defense of the BZ-68 is relatively excellent

The BZ-68's defense is relatively good, although it seems that its turret is not very defensive, but the same class and advanced tanks need to use high-penetration special ammunition to penetrate the front of the turret of the flat BZ-68, and once it "sells" on the slope, the breakdown rate will be greatly reduced, and only the hatch at the top of the turret can be considered. The armor arrangement of the hull of the BZ-68 is similar to that of the BZ-166, but the upper part of the hull has been changed to an integral type, maintaining a certain degree of defensive power, and the lower head and sides of the hull are still obvious weak areas. The BZ-68's maneuverability is also not significantly improved compared to the BZ-166, and the extreme speed of 30 km/h makes it necessary to rely on rocket boosters to make tactical maneuvers.

Level 10: BZ-75

The rocket goes down, unstoppable! What a wave will the 4 new C-Series Chongtan set off?

▲BZ-75

The 10-level BZ-75 can use 6 rocket boosters, and this C-series "new 10-level big brother" has a rather powerful and domineering appearance, it uses a 152 mm caliber main gun, but the average damage of this main gun's armor-piercing shell is set to 650 points, and the penetration depth of the armor-piercing bullet is also set at 258/319 mm, which is slightly regrettable. The BZ-75's gun reload speed is also not very fast, and the gun control also makes it difficult to fight at long distances, and it is best suited for hitting the enemy at close range. Fortunately, the BZ-75 also has a depression angle of -8°, which can be output in common terrain without being limited by the depression angle.

▲BZ-75 focuses on close combat

The BZ-75 does have thicker armor on the front than the 111 5A, but it has 3 hatch weaknesses on the front of its turret, and the "cluster" of these weaknesses makes it easy for the enemy to deal damage to the BZ-75 in battle, so simply "selling" is not suitable for the BZ-75. Its hull head and side defenses are also poor, and the engine compartment can also become a weak point when swinging angles. Only by "moving" can the BZ-75 maximize its combat superiority, while relying on 2500 HP to open the way for the team to attack. The rocket booster that can be used 6 times is the strength of the BZ-75, whether it is to grab points or launch an impact on the enemy.

▲C series new heavy tanks, waiting for you to fight!

The combat style of the new C-Series heavy tanks needs to be adapted, and they are designed for close-to-medium combat. Take advantage of rocket boosters and their thick armor and HP to give your team an edge, which is what the new C-Series heavy tanks should do in battle, and if you like the feeling of punching to the flesh up close, start developing them now!
