Over the past few years, we've gotten used to Steam constantly breaking its own concurrent user records, and yes, it was broken again this weekend — twice — and for the first time we've seen an active in-game player surpass of 10 million as well.
Earlier today, according to SteamDB, Steam reached 33078963 concurrent users, but most of them were logged in but idle, and today Steam also reached 10284568 active users.
Are we busy with this weekend's race? Typically, the top two are CS:GO and Dota 2. PUBG, Apex Saga, The Lost Ark, Grand Theft Auto 5, Rust, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Wallpaper Engine each round out the top ten.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the number of Steam users has risen steadily, peaking at nearly 30 million last March.
At the end of October, that number was broken again — twice — with 30,049,264 simultaneous PC clients, and then at the end of November, when our friends ended their Thanksgiving celebrations, Steam reached 31,379,760 concurrent users.
