Next to me was such an ordinary old party member, his name was Yuan Anrong.
The first time I met Yuan Anrong was at a community party member meeting. This is a 54-year-old party member, and the first impression is simple. Through the introduction of my colleagues in the community, I found that such an ordinary party member was doing an extraordinary thing, and he deeply shocked me and made me realize that those excellent communist party members did not exist only in propaganda reports, they were all around you and me.
It goes back to the late autumn of 1990. Yuan Anrong and his wife Li Yuanhui were on their way to visit relatives when they suddenly heard a faint cry on the side of the road. After searching around, I found a baby girl in the grass nearby, crying and hoarse. He took off his coat and wrapped the baby girl, carefully picking her up, trying to warm her with his own body temperature. Subsequently, he also tried to find parents for the baby girl, but to no avail. "Give it to others, our family is so poor, where can we afford it?" The wife said. It turned out that Yuan Anrong and his wife also lived in poverty, and only lived by selling some vegetables. "This kid is related to us." You see, we're all in our 40s, and we don't have a son and a half daughter. We adopted it. In the future, even if I eat less, I will make sure that I will not let you and your children go hungry. So, the baby girl had a nice name: Yuan Lixia.
Yuan Anrong went to the local government to register the child and officially became the adoptive father of the child. In order to keep the child from starvation, he went around looking for people with children to beg for milk; he was never willing to eat it when he had good food, and gave it to the child. When the neighbors saw him like this, some laughed at him stupidly, and some persuaded him to send the child away. Old Yuan always laughed at these discussions. When her daughter was almost two years old, Yuan Anrong welcomed her son. A daughter and a child, put together a "good" word, Yuan Anrong believes that he is the happiest person in the world. He had thought that life would go on so happily, but who knew that happiness was fleeting, and greater suffering had befallen him. A few days after giving birth to her son, the wife was diagnosed with severe cirrhosis and viral periostitis. Immediately after, the daughter was diagnosed with congenital polio in a high fever, and since then she has not been able to speak, urinate and urinate incontinence, and is paralyzed in bed.
"This is a sick child, it will drag you down for a lifetime, or send it to the welfare home as soon as possible." Many people advised him to give up his daughter. "She called me Daddy and she will always be my child." Yuan Anrong held his daughter tightly in his arms and did not listen to the persuasion of others. At this time, looking at this crumbling home, the wife also moved the idea of giving up. "Or send her away, blame only this child's life, our family really can't raise her!" Yuan Anrong comforted his wife and said, "As long as I have a breath, I will not be hungry for you mothers." Therefore, every day Yuan Anrong was busy with farm work, taking care of his daughter first, and then taking care of his son and wife every day. In his life, his daughter always comes first. "As long as I have one day, I will raise her for one day." This is a sentence that Yuan Anrong often hangs on his lips.
Time passed day by day, the daughter slowly grew up under the care of Yuan Anrong, and the son also reached the age of marrying a wife. But every time the blind date as long as the woman learns that they have a disabled sister in the family, they will definitely leave. For this reason, the son also complained about his father: "Dad, why do you want to raise her?" Relatives and friends also said: "You are all old, how long can you live?" Or send her away. In the face of his son's complaints and the suggestions of others, this time Yuan Anrong did not ignore it, but pondered deeply: Her daughter's life is not settled, what should she do if I die. When he acquired land for demolition in 2018, he did not hesitate to write the name of his daughter Yuan Lixia on the housing resettlement agreement, giving her a house of her own. He also told his son that this resettlement house was inherited by someone who took care of his daughter's daily life and sent him to the end of his life, and his son could not obstruct it. At first, the family did not understand the decision. Yuan Anrong has done ideological work for his family many times and finally reached a consensus. Now the son is married and has a child of his own. Yuan Anrong still carefully takes care of his daughter, and the family is happy and harmonious.
How many people in the world can do this well? Moreover, Yuan Anrong did more than this one thing.
One day in March 2017, an old woman accidentally fell into the water while washing clothes by the river, and Yuan Anrong, who was passing by, completely forgot that he was 71 years old, resolutely jumped into the river, and did his best to save people from the shore. When he came ashore, he was exhausted and gasping for breath, but the corners of his mouth involuntarily lifted when he saw the unharmed old woman. After Yuan Anrong took a short rest, he went home, as if nothing had happened. Later, the old woman's family called his family to thank him, and everyone knew that there was such a thing.
This is an excellent party member next to me, who touched everyone around me with simple words and firm actions, and showed the people around him the selfless dedication and self-denial of a communist party member. Although he did not do anything major, he never forgot his original intention, practiced the obligations of a Communist Party member with his own practical actions, played the vanguard and exemplary role of a Communist Party member, and gave us full of positive energy of love around him.
