U.S. President Joe Biden signed an executive order on October 25 local time to impose new vaccine requirements on most foreign air travelers and lifted strict travel restrictions on China, India and much of Europe from November 8.

According to Reuters reported on the 25th, Biden signed a new executive order on the same day, aiming to "get rid of the travel restrictions previously imposed by the United States during the new crown epidemic and take the main reliance on vaccines to promote the safe recovery of international air travel." Under the new rules, all nonimmigrant and non-citizen air passengers must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide proof before boarding.

The White House said the new vaccine requirements would not affect children under the age of 18 and people with certain medical problems. But if the above population intends to stay in the United States for more than 60 days, the vaccine still needs to be vaccinated. At the same time, people from countries with vaccination rates below 10% will also be eligible for vaccine exemptions, including Nigeria, Egypt, Myanmar, Iraq and others. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said this month that visitors who have been fully vaccinated with any vaccine authorized by U.S. regulatory agencies or the World Health Organization are eligible.

The Biden administration plans to release details of the program later this week, with plans to lift land transit restrictions on vaccinated foreign nationals starting Nov. 8.
