God Of War is a third-person action role-playing game produced by Sony's Santa Monica studio, released by Sony on March 22, 2005.
Set in Greek mythology, the game tells the story of Kratos, who became the god of war from a mortal to the god of war, and began the adventure of killing the gods. Follow-up also came out "God of War 2: Holy Sword and Punishment", "God of War 3" and "God of War: Ragnarok".

God of War is the orthodox sequel to God of War 3, officially known as "God of War", without a numerical serial number, and also represents a reboot of the series. In this game, Kratos lost his beloved family long ago because of the strategy of Ares, the god of war in Greek mythology. Enraged, Kratos begins to challenge the Greek gods and succeeds in taking revenge. Kratos then leaves his miserable past behind and moves to Northern Europe and gains a new family. Because of his blood-stained past, Kratos has always kept his son at arm's length. However, due to the sudden death of his wife, Kratos returns again, and in order to fulfill his wife's last words, he embarks on a journey to the land of Mizgarz, ruled by the gods of Norse mythology.
The series is produced by "Uncharted" and "Wheel of Time" screenwriter Leif Juggins, and "Iron Man" and "Children of Man" screenwriters Mark Fergus and Hawke Osterby.
The actor Kratos has not yet been determined.
