"Notorious" Conor McGregor fell out of the official UFC rankings for the first time in more than eight years of fighting in the UFC
Connor McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC), a former UFC lightweight and featherweight double, broke his leg in a rematch with Dustin Poirier in July 2021 and hasn't competed since, having been excluded from the official UFC rankings after eight consecutive fights.
After the injury, Connor ranked 14th in the 155-pound lightweight category, but McGregor has been absent from the newly released UFC rankings.
This is the first time McGregor has lost his place in the charts since beating Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26 in August 2013. Following this victory, McGregor made his UFC headline main event debut in July 2014 against Diego Brandao, and after the TKO victory, he ranked 12th in the featherweight division.
Connor began to make the cut, soaring all the way to the UFC 145-pound featherweight title. He then rose to the lightweight division, winning the lightweight title after defeating Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November 2016 and becoming the first double champion in UFC history. Since then, he has achieved great success in his career, opened his own company, created his own whisky brand, and made a lot of money! Then, over the next six years, McGregor played in just four MMA games. On October 7, 2018, he lost his lightweight title to Khabib Nurmagomedov "Kittyhawk" in a championship fight. He has won only one of his three duels with "The Diamond" Poirier, and his only victory in four years was the TKO of Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January 2020.
McGregor currently has no race plans because he did not take a drug test, but he claims to intend to return to the UFC in 2023. If he wants to return to the octagon, he must undergo a six-month continuous test in the drug testing program of the UFC and partner USADA before he can be allowed to compete.
