Macao, 2 Dec (Xinhua) -- Showcasing new consumption patterns and opening up and sharing new opportunities, the first China (Macao) International High-Quality Consumer Expo (hereinafter referred to as the High-quality Fair) and the main forum of the Hengqin World Bay Area Forum opened in Macao on 2 December.
Five exhibition areas, hundreds of brands, covering dozens of countries and regions... Walking into the high-end exhibition area, the exhibits are dazzling. The theme of the main forum was "Cooperation, Innovation and Sharing - New Trends of World Change and New Economic Opportunities in the Bay Area". In addition, focusing on the cultural tourism convention and exhibition industry, pharmaceutical industry, modern financial industry and the new ecology of high-quality consumption, four parallel theme forums were held simultaneously to deeply analyze the development context of key development areas.
Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government, Mr Lee Wai Nong, attended the opening ceremony and said that the first High-quality Expo and Hengqin World Bay Area Forum successfully practiced and innovated the cross-border cooperation model of "one convention and two places", giving full play to the advantages of the two places, forming synergies, and promoting more merchants to visit Macao and the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin for business exchanges and tourism consumption, which is of great significance to promoting industrial cooperation and economic development between the two places. The event linked the huge consumer market in the Mainland, the advantages of the joint development of Qinqin and Macao, and the functions of Macao's service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, providing a platform for different enterprises to promote their business.

Zhang Xin, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, said that the first High-quality Fair and Hengqin World Bay Area Forum brought together nearly 200 enterprises and dozens of well-known international brands from all over the country to build an exhibition platform with international influence, which will inject new impetus and provide new opportunities for accelerating the construction of China-Portugal International Trade Center, an international hub port for digital trade, and a trading center for high-quality imported consumer goods.
Hosted by Nanguang (Group) Co., Ltd., the Foreign Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, the high-quality meeting and forum adopts the innovative method of "one exhibition and two places". A series of themed sub-forums will be held in Hengqin, Zhuhai from November 30 to December 1, and the main forum and expo will be held in Macao from December 2 to 4.
