On November 30, the live-action movie of the classic Japanese manga "Saint Seiya" released a pilot trailer, and the Pegasus Saint Seiya played by Shinda Shinkenyu appeared. The film is directed by Tomok Barkinski, executive producer and senior animator and special effects artist of "The Witcher", and Masami Kada, the original manga author, as one of the executive producers, and the film will be released in Japan and the United States in 2023.

On May 18, 2017, the 70th Cannes Film Festival "SCREEN" reported that the English live-action version of "Saint Seiya" was about to start filming. The press release read: Kozo Morishita, chairman of Toei Animation and director of the "Saint Seiya" anime series, will serve as executive producer of the film with the original manga author Masami Kada. Masami Cheda said that the film will be dedicated to loyal fans who have supported Saint Seiya for three decades and to the new generation of fans. The film will be jointly invested and cooperated by Toei Animation Co., Ltd., the original producer of the manga, and Zhenhao Film Co., Ltd.

Judging from the information in the latest pilot trailer, the live-action version of Saint Seiya was created by Toei Animation and Sony Pictures' Worldwide Acquisitions, with Shinta Shinjianyuki starring Seiya and Madison Iseman playing the Athena-esque character Sienna. The film derives a new story based on Masami Kada's original manga: the awakening of the mysterious power "Little Universe" on the street orphan Seiya, who wears the armor of Pegasus from ancient Greek legends, and fights against fate with the girl Xena, who has awakened divine power, to meet the supernatural wars that are coming.

Currently, Toei Animation is considering making 6 live-action films as a series and has "started talking" about making a sequel.

Serialization of the Saint Seiya manga began in 1980 after the 1/2 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (released in December 1985). The anime was broadcast on TV Asahi in Japan from October 11, 1986 to April 1, 1989, and has since been broadcast in more than 80 countries and regions. In 1989, Saint Seiya was introduced Chinese mainland.
