"The Reverse Current of the Heart":
The collision of reality and soul
The bumps in the heart with the environment

This is a bland but beautiful film
A good film that brings tears to one's eyes in a slow storyline
The first time I saw the poster for this film was in 2010, because I have always had a fondness for Bearded European and American men, and the bearded South American man on the right side of the poster (actor: Cristian Mercado) further aroused my desire to watch this film.
The story takes place in a small seaside village in South America, the picture is simple, simple, without any rendering, if you are familiar with the seaside village in South America, you will feel that the picture in the film is simple and unspeakable, yes, the story takes place in this plain place.
Miguel, played by Cristian Mercado, is an ordinary man living in this mundane seaside village, and like all the men there, their lives are nothing more than going out to sea during the day to fish, and when they come back, they play cards with each other or drink and play billiards in a broken bar, and everyone knows each other well.
The appearance of Santiago, played by Manolo Cardona, shatters this calm.
When the film freezes on a date between the two in an abandoned old house by the sea, my intuition tells me it's going to be a "bland" good movie.
In such a small village where everyone knows each other, Miguel has also been suppressing her heart, she has a pregnant wife, the neighborhood is harmonious, everyone likes and respects Miguel, but the appearance of Santiago has made the seemingly happy family begin to have crisis and uneasiness.
What will happen to Miguel, Santiago, Miguel's wife, and the child in her belly, and will Miguel and Santiago finally go together?
When the plot developed, my heart did not seem to stir up too many waves, still as plain as the background of the film, but the director deliberately put the most touching things at the end of the film, and my tears followed the flow of the sea in the film and could not be suppressed.
"The Backwaters of the Heart" won the World Cinema Audience Award at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. The award is voted for by the audience and awarded each year to a non-English work, which is equivalent to the best foreign language film award, although the voting power is not given to the critics, but is exercised by the audience themselves.
The film is known as the male version of "Man Ghost Love", that is, the most touching gay film after "Brokeback Mountain".
