I don't know if you remember the animated movie "Penguin Highway" released some time ago? The work impressed people with its fresh and lovely painting style, brilliant colors and fairytale fantasy stories, and it is amazing after watching it. However, many people know very little about the supervision of the work, Ishida Yuyasu. Yuyasu Ishida was born in Aichi Prefecture in 1988. He aspired to be an animation supervisor since high school, and in his sophomore year of high school, he published his debut novel "Love", Later, during his university years, he created the animated short film "Confession of Fumiko", which won several awards such as the Excellence Award of the Animation Department of the 14th Japan Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival, and gradually emerged. Since graduating, he has been active in the industry, directing several animated short films and participating in other works. During the 18-year period, the 30-year-old Yuyasu Ishida directed the animated feature film "Penguin Highway" for the first time. The performance of the work after the broadcast is remarkable, but it can also be seen that it is really talented and has the potential of rising stars.

This article focuses on four animated short films directed by Yuyasu Ishida. Although the duration is short, each work can be described as unique. The following is introduced to you according to the chronological order of its creation.

1. Fumiko's Confession, 2009

"Wenzi's Confession" tells the story of the simple and straightforward girl Wenzi who confesses to the boy she loves and runs in excitement after being rejected. The animation is only about two minutes long, but it tells a rather interesting story in a limited time, and the delicate emotions of adolescent girls are vividly expressed in the rhythm of bright jumping. The exaggerated character movements and the variety of background animations are impressive. "Interesting, interesting, interesting", I can't think of any other word to describe this work.

2. Rainy City, 11 years

"City of Rain" is a university graduation design by Yuyasu Ishida. This animated short film is very different from the previous "Confessions of Fumiko" in terms of form and story structure, telling the story of a girl in a yellow raincoat looking for a rusty robot. There is no dialogue in the whole text, but through the delicate depiction of the characters' actions and the rendering of the background atmosphere, it shows a deep sense of indulgence, which makes people feel that there is still a lot of story mining in it, which can't help but be fascinating. Under the raindrops, surrounded by a dream-like story.

3. Blue rain in the sun, 13 years

"Blue Rain in the Sunshine" is a childlike and imaginative animation work that tells the story of a teenager running forward for the girl he has a crush on. Many viewers think that the protagonist is too delusional, imagining some ordinary and simple things so exaggerated, and even some feelings around the self. However, in my opinion, Ishida Yuyasu truthfully expresses the delicate emotions that childhood boys are ashamed to express in a unique and ingenious form. After all, who didn't fantasize about it when they were teenagers? After watching it, people are deeply touched, and I can personally give this work a full score.

4. Bollet's Chair, 14 years

This should be familiar to everyone, the classic beginning of NOITAMINA (a program block dedicated to Japanese animation on the Fuji Television Network of Japan). Bolette's Chair is a 2014 Fuji Television short film to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the late-night anime show Noitamina, directed by Yuyasu Ishida. It tells the fantasy story of a girl and a chair. It is also worth noting that the characters in this game have a strong Ghibli style, because his character design position is held by Former Ghibli art director Yojiro Arai. The character design of the previous "Blue Rain in the Sun" was also taken by Yojiro Arai, and the two have worked together many times.
