My name is Li Zhenghan, I graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2013, joined the Philharmonic Orchestra in 2020, and currently serve as the captain of the Shanghai team of the Philharmonic Light Music Troupe.
This small video, which has been widely circulated on the Internet, was filmed by the audience when our orchestra performed at the Hangzhou Grand Theater on November 13, and the main song performed by the orchestra that day was the classic music of Hisaishi Jean & Hayao Miyazaki.
Hisaishi has a lot of works, and we can't take care of all the audience's preferences on the program, so we usually ask everyone what other songs they want to hear at the encore and perform them.
On the day of the performance, many parents brought children to listen, the audience was also relatively enthusiastic, said a lot of various songs, when the child shouted "The Lonely Brave", the voice was loud, just another gap period, so the recognition was very high.
I was actually surprised at the time, usually the audience chose "The Sun Also Rises" or "Carousel of Life", "Kikujiro's Summer" and even "Kanon". So I communicated with the other members on stage a little, and decided to play the song "The Lonely Brave" for the children present.
We rehearsed the song "The Lonely Brave" a long time ago, but we never had the opportunity to perform it publicly.
Our orchestra will rehearse twice a week to ensure the condition of the musicians and the quality of the performance, many of the repertoire are very familiar to everyone, some time ago "The Lonely Brave" was very popular with children, so we tried to arrange many versions and add it to other songs, hoping to have the opportunity to bring it to children.
At that time, there were also people shouting "Kikujiro's Summer", so we fused the two songs, and many netizens noticed that I blew "Love You Alone in the Dark Alley" twice, in fact, I was also making variations with the group members, and at the same time predicting the approximate speed of the later songs.
After the variation, the audience applauded thunderously.

Some netizens said that only children will shout their wishes out loud, and the wishes shouted out loud deserve to be taken seriously.
On November 18, I posted a video of the performance of "The Wind Rises" on Weibo, and I wanted to send it to my friends who whispered "The Wind Rises" when they returned that day, and the wishes of adults should also be fulfilled.
In fact, adults also need to be encouraged and courageous, but adults do not say.
They are also very sensitive to music, may have too many things to worry about in their daily life or work, and are a little numb to some small touches in life or are hidden by them, but good music is transmitted to the deepest part of everyone's heart.
I would like to say to the children who bravely shouted their wishes at that time, I think your courage is very good, and I hope to maintain this state in the future. I think it's actually a lot like the "solo" in our orchestra, when it's time to come out, you have to make it accessible to everyone.

Whether big friends or children, they are all "lonely braves" in their own lives, but everyone's expression is different, in my opinion, being able to do their own things beautifully, worthy of the time and energy they pay, is the "heroism" in life.

Our orchestra has two violins, a viola, a cello, a piano and a clarinet, my specialty is clarinet.
Compared to the huge symphony orchestra, our orchestra is relatively small and may not play large symphonies that require more voices, but our style is varied and mobile, and the repertoire we usually perform in addition to Hisaishi's series of works, as well as romantic classical, pop, etc.
The clarinet, for example, is like a "orator" in an orchestra, which can be loud and high-pitched, gentle and soft, ethereal, or full-bodied.
Our orchestra often tries to innovate, whether it is to add new elements to classic world famous songs, or to creative arrangements of melodies in original works.
The traditional repertoire of a large-scale symphony is predetermined, but our orchestra wants to be more flexible and close to everyone, there are many forms of musical expression, not everyone will like and appreciate too professional symphony, there may be people who need some anime or popular elements.
This is also what we have always been willing to do, hoping to satisfy the desire of more people to "want to hear".
For me, I feel that music is a sustenance, or it is another way of expressing me, something that music can express, sometimes words and words cannot express, but it is closer to the heart.
Sometimes, I also think that there can be a pop-up show on the subway in Shanghai at any time to bring some surprise and relaxation to people after a busy day, but it still needs an opportunity to do this in China, and I hope that music can really bring happiness to everyone, not just as a performance art.
