However, who would have thought that in the first year of the resumption of the college entrance examination, its admission rate would be so low!
1977 was the first year of the resumption of the college entrance examination, which, unlike the past practice, was not held in the summer, but in the winter.
At that time, a total of more than 5.7 million candidates took the exam, but fewer than 300,000 candidates were finally admitted, and the national average admission rate was only 5%, which was no less difficult than the admission of 211 and 985 key universities!
So, what is the reason why the admission rate is so low this year?
In fact, the reason is very simple!
Because before this, the college entrance examination has been interrupted for more than ten years, and the reasons for the interruption are well known to everyone.
As a result, candidates don't have much time and energy to study and prepare for the exam, so that the admission rate is so low.
For example, Zhejiang and Guangxi at that time carried out the pilot college entrance examination in Tongxiang County and Baise County respectively, and the results of the candidates came out, but they were surprisingly low.
According to records, at that time, the total average score of the four subjects in Tongxiang County was more than 60 points, accounting for only 9% of the total number of candidates. This means that 91% of the people on this exam failed.
Among the 3459 people who took the math test in Guangxi Baise County, only 22 people scored more than 60 points; as many as 1254 people scored zero points alone. The number of zero points is more than 50 times more than the number of passers.
At that time, many candidates who took the college entrance examination could not even do the four calculations of primary school.
In the language examination in Baise County, Guangxi, there are even more typos to the point of astonishment, such as writing "prosperous and strong" as "all tolerant and strong", "nuclear weapons" as "black weapons", and so on; and in the compositions, some content about current politics is also written.
Compared with that time, the comprehensive level of candidates taking the college entrance examination now is still much better. However, we cannot deny that those aspiring students who worked hard for the dream of that year were brave enough to work hard and be positive, and this spirit is undoubtedly worth learning.
Of course, in addition to the influence of the times, the difficulty of examination papers in some areas was also a reason for the low admission rate.
For example, the topic of mathematics in the college entrance examination in Henan Province is a typical example.
The whole volume is divided into compulsory questions and reference questions, and the compulsory questions are 10 algebraic and geometry questions; reference questions are not counted in the total score!
Looking at the entire test paper, there is no multiple choice question, and if you want to answer, you can only learn by relying on your real talent, otherwise you can only write a "solution" word. And if you want to rely on "all who can't choose C", it is simply not feasible.
Because of this, there were still many people who scored zero at the time!
Although the year's acceptance rate was very low, it was a good incentive for thousands of people to pick up books again and join the army of students.
