Next month the night sky staged the "Star Moon Fairy Tale" again! This time it is easy to identify and easy to observe

The "Star Moon Fairy Tale" will be staged again in October. The reporter learned from the Beijing Planetarium that on October 14 and 15, the moon "met" with Saturn and Jupiter, and the three bright celestial bodies jointly staged the "double star with the moon" celestial phenomenon, which was very easy to identify and easy to observe.

Wang Yumin, an expert at the Beijing Ancient Observatory, said that on the 14th and 15th, two nights can see the double star with the moon, but the moon is closer to Saturn the night before, and the moon is closer to Jupiter the next night. This is because saturn conjunction occurs on October 14 and Jupiter conjunction occurs on October 15. Although the double star with the moon shows a standard smile, it is still recommended to observe, because the scene can be viewed at sunset, and the difficulty of observation is very low.

On October 16, Venus Horde will be staged. At that time, Venus is 1.5 degrees north of the heart of the second place, and the southwest low altitude after sunset, observers can use the low-power binoculars to capture its frame picture and experience the fantastic beauty.

On October 21, the Orion meteor shower was extremely large, with a maximum ZHR (the number of meteors that can be seen per hour when the radiation point is directly above the head under ideal viewing conditions) at 20. Unfortunately, this year's Orion meteor shower observation conditions are average, October 21 is the sixteenth day of the ninth month of the lunar calendar, and the large moon will adversely affect the meteor shower observation. However, while peak times catch up with the Great Moon, the Orion meteor shower has a long active period, spanning more than a month from October 2 to November 7. In addition, there are many other meteor showers that are active in October, such as the daytime sextant meteor shower, the October deer leopard meteor shower, and the Draco meteor shower. These small meteor showers stacked together will also increase the likelihood that astronomy enthusiasts will see meteors.

On October 25, Mercury reached the Western Great Distance, and Mercury ushered in the last best time of the year. Wang Yumin said that mercury appears at dawn in the low altitude of the east, and the influence of morning light and atmosphere will be relatively dark, and it is recommended that observers use binoculars to observe. "Actually, for a few days before and after this, you can try to find Mercury."

There is a small surprise waiting at the end of the month. Looking east in the early morning of the 31st, Leo's Regulus XIV, Regulus XII and Remnant Moon formed a mini "smiley face" and laughed until dawn.
