After the videos and photos were uploaded to social networking sites, they caused a heated discussion among netizens. Some have speculated that the youth involved may have needed to shoot videos to do their homework before committing such behavior. The MTR said it was aware of the video and launched a real-time investigation, and after synthesizing relevant information, it believes that the incident occurred on the evening of October 13 and involved 5 passengers. The MTR stipulates that no one shall engage in acts that cause nuisance or annoyance to other passengers on the train or in any part of the railway premises. According to the MTR Baggage Regulations, the sum of the dimensions (length, width and height) of baggage carried by passengers shall not exceed 170 cm, while the length of any side shall not exceed 130 cm, and baggage exceeding the regulations shall not be brought into the paid area of the station.
