The report said that the new "Mars Cannon-17" intercontinental ballistic missile was launched at Pyongyang International Airport, flying a distance of 999.2 kilometers and a flight time of 4,135 seconds, and finally landed accurately in the predetermined waters of the high seas in eastern North Korea.

Kim Jong-un said the test reconfirmed that North Korea's nuclear forces can deter any nuclear threat. He said that the recent military threats by the United States and other forces around North Korea have become more urgent, requiring North Korea to "substantially accelerate the escalation of overwhelming nuclear deterrence."

Kim Jong-un warned that if hostile forces frequently introduce nuclear strike means and continue to threaten the DPRK, the DPRK will "resolutely answer the frontal confrontation of the United States with nuclear weapons and frontal confrontation."
