Comrade Zhang Jiasheng, a national first-class actor and recitation artist of the National Drama Theatre of China, died at the age of 86 in Beijing Friendship Hospital on October 4, 2021 due to illness. Many colleagues and friends of Zhang Jiasheng's National Drama Theatre expressed their deep condolences, and Dean Tian Qinxin personally wrote a nostalgic article "Treating Roles, Distinguishing Them with Their Own Consciousness".

He dabbled in almost all the sound art achievements, and his friends in the Chinese dialect chased down the artist Zhang Jiasheng

Zhang Jiasheng, born in 1935 in Cangzhou, Hebei, is a Hui ethnic group. He graduated from the Acting Department of the Central Academy of Drama in 1960. In his artistic career of more than 60 years, he has participated in the creation of more than 100 works, engaged in drama performance and directing, TV series performance and dubbing, TV film commentary, etc., and has dabbled in almost all forms of expression of the language of sound art. As an excellent long-form performer, he was listed as one of the top ten performing artists by the Central People's Radio in 1984, selected as "National Listeners' Favorite Studio Artist" by the China Radio and Television Society in 1991, and won the National Best Radio Drama Actor Award. In the 1980s and 1990s, his novels "How Steel is Made", "Homeland", "Beyond Self", etc. caused great social repercussions, and "The Story of Mao Zedong" and "Choice" won the first prize of the "China Broadcasting Literature and Art Government Award". He also served as a narrator for the 87 version of the TV series Dream of the Red Chamber. As a drama actor, he has starred in a large number of Chinese and foreign dramas, such as Shakespeare's "Windsor's Merry Ladies", Cao Yu's "Beijinger", etc., and has won the "Golden Lion Award" for national drama actors. In 2016, the 80-year-old Zhang Jiasheng took up the stage and participated in the large-scale drama "Du Fu" created by the National Theatre of China as a reciter. He has also published more than ten papers, such as "Essay on Language Personalization", "Speaking Commentary", "My Art Language Teaching" and so on.

Tian Qinxin, president of the National Theatre of China, expressed his deep condolences after learning the news of Zhang Jiasheng's death, and specially wrote an article "Treating Roles, Using Your Own Consciousness to Distinguish" to express his nostalgia. She wrote: "Remembering that the first time I worked with Mr. Zhang was in mid-September 2001, preparing for the 'Listening to the Classics - Large-scale Music Recital', Mr. Zhang's work attitude was rigorous, his grasp of the lines was meticulous, and he strictly distinguished between 'Hugo's romance' in the first half and 'Napoleon's domineering' in the second half. I still vividly remember him saying: Characters cannot be confused, voices cannot be confused, and they must be strictly distinguished. Even if you are a vocal cavity and a character, you must use your own consciousness to distinguish when dealing with the role. ”

Many artists who have cooperated with Zhang Jiasheng on the same stage of the National Drama Theatre have also expressed their nostalgia.

Han Tongsheng wrote: "The death of Teacher Jiasheng has made us lose a performing artist, a language master and a recitation artist. We will continue to carry on this artistic legacy! Family Voice Teacher Eternity! Huang Xiaoli and Cao Lile said: "Your voice and smile will always remain in our friendship!" We will not forget your professionalism in the art of drama performance and recitation! Rest in peace dear old friend! Lei Kesheng said: "Zhang Jiasheng is my classmate, a unit, Zhang Jiasheng died I am very sad, he is particularly good at recitation, strong language ability, I have cooperated with him in many dramas, I hope he goes all the way, I miss him very much!" Li Fa once mourned: "Brother all the way! Liu Tiegang also wrote: "Teacher Zhang Jiasheng is an artist with a conscience! He is a great mentor and friend to our generation of theater people! He will live forever with the other theatrical arts he loves all his life! ”

Zhang Wei, a young actor, also wrote affectionately: "Mr. Li dedicated his voice to the 87th edition of "Dream of the Red Chamber", and I worshiped it as a god in my heart. Later, I actually had the honor to cooperate and ask for advice in person, which was an honor. At that time, I was doing the evening writing, responsible for Mr. Coach's rehearsal and communication, we got along all day, knowing that each other were Cangzhou people, so they were closer. Every time he helped up and down, he said thank you, and when he saw other stars walking on the stage, he really poked and poked angry, especially cute old man. ”
