According to the news released by the TV station, November 17 is the 102nd National Day celebration in Myanmar, and in order to commemorate the upcoming National Day celebration festival, the Myanmar National Management Committee issued an amnesty order.
In the amnesty list, the then federal minister-level official U Cho Ting Sui, former Governor of Tanintharyi Province, Dr. Lele Mo, who was sentenced to decades in prison for corruption, and U Thant, a former member of the Federal Election Commission, were released by amnesty.
In order to demonstrate the humanitarian spirit and promote diplomatic friendship between countries, the National Management Committee granted amnesty to Aung San Suu Kyi's Australian economic adviser Sean Turner, former British ambassador to Burma Bowman, who was sentenced to one year in prison, Japanese director Totu Kubota, who was arrested for filming a documentary about the demonstrations in Yangon, and U.S. citizen U Chu Tewu. At the same time, after being released from prison, the above four foreign citizens will be included in the list of deportees.
