"Natural science" Pine cedar dark hole fungus: petal-like

Chinese aliases: Chestnut brown dark hole fungus, Pine dry base brown rot fungus.

Taxonomic status: Porous bacteria, Phytoporaceae, Cryptomycetes spp.

Morphological characteristics: the fruit is large, the diameter of the cap is 8 to 25 cm, the thickness is 1 to 2 cm, flat, semi-circular or nearly circular, petal-shaped. Sessile or sessile, partial or mesophytic, generally sessile is laterally grown on the substrate and stacked with tiles, the tube is single-layered, tea brown, 2 to 5 mm long, the size of the tube holes varies, nearly round, oval or nearly lost, and the later stage is toothed, 1 to 3 per millimeter. The spores are oval or broadly oval, colorless, smooth, and the size (5.5 to 7.5) μm × (3.5 to 4.5) μm.

Ecological habits: In summer and autumn, it grows mostly on the roots, roots or fallen trees of conifers (larch), and grows in groups and stacks.

Domestic distribution: widely distributed.

Economic effect: wood decay fungus, mainly caused by loose dry base block brown rot.
