In this issue, we interpret how to choose a suitable Lua rod from the parameters of a finished Luya rod (excluding glass fiber rods and fly rods, which have not been used and are not understood).
When it comes to buying Luya, you can't avoid Shimano and Dava, these two brands have always been the benchmark level of the industry. However, many of the instructions for these imported fishing gear are not equipped with Chinese version, and they cannot be understood, but fortunately, the treasure details page on a treasure can basically understand the desired fishing gear.
In the future, I will also publish several fishing reports on the interpretation of the models of major brands of Luya rods to help anglers choose Luya rods more clearly, and interested anglers can continue to pay attention.
Some people will say that buying expensive is the end, it is true that everyone understands the truth of one penny and one penny, but the quality of a product must be determined by whether it can have excellent performance when using it, not just because of the price, so we will not mention the price for the time being. And even if you buy it expensively, you have to know where it is expensive, right?
Because there are many manufacturers of Luya rods, the parameter labeling methods and the units used are not the same, and there is no way to say it clearly at once. So I can only summarize some of the international labeling data, I hope to give you a reference when choosing Lua Rod.
The discussion of the straight handle of the gun was mentioned in the previous issue, and this issue will not be repeated. Still that sentence, it is most important to choose the right rod type for different baits, but it is difficult to buy a smile, and there is no big problem in liking which one comes.
When a Luya rod is held in the hand, it can make us have an intuitive feeling for it, and manufacturers will generally mark some data of this rod on the rod to let us have a certain understanding of it.
However, considering the limited surface area and aesthetics of the rod, it is impossible for the manufacturer to indicate all the situations about this fishing rod, so we need to dig deeper into it.
Although each manufacturer's labeling method is different, it does not matter, the meaning of the labeling is the content of the labeling, not the way of labeling.
The parameters we need to excavate are more important as the reference for purchasing a fishing rod: full length, shrinkage length, number of sections, weight, hardness, tonality, first diameter, element diameter, guide ring, suitable line number, adapting to bait weight, handle length, wheel seat position.
When we dig out this data, even if you have not started a real thing about a Luya rod, your understanding of it can be said to have reached a thorough level. Just like the virtual bamboo to the dream girl, in addition to not knowing the appearance, the other basically knows everything.
Next, let's take a look at some of the information hidden in the parameters.
Full length: The length of the entire fishing rod, the size commonly used in the mass production products that can be bought on the market range from 1.2 meters to 3.6M.
The first thing that needs to be made clear is that the length of the fishing rod is not directly related to the hardness of the fishing rod, and it is not that the longer it is, the harder it is.
The model name of most fishing rods includes the full length of the fishing rod, which is generally reflected in the number of the model, and the unit is mostly feet or inches. For example, the following figure

It can be seen that the two numbers "54" are the length of the rod.
Some rod types also use the number 1 or 2 to distinguish between straight handle and gun handle. For example, Shimano Glory Series, Shahula Series.
The length of the whole rod directly determines the throwing ability and use environment of this fishing rod.
The truth of throwing ability is that in the case of the same hardness or similarity, the same fishing group, the longer the rod, the farther the throwing distance.
Fishing rods of different lengths are adapted to different use environments, and the fishing experience is different.
If you are fishing in a narrow stream or a water bank with no requirements for long-range throwing ability or more obstacles such as trees and weeds, then you can choose a relatively short fishing rod, which is light and minimizes the impact of obstacles on fishing.
If your fishing environment is a large river, lake, reservoir, seaside such as open water surface and few obstacles, you need to choose a long rod with stronger long throwing ability for fishing, as the saying goes, put a long line to catch big fish, large area search is beneficial and disadvantageous.
There are also special cases that do not require long-range throwing ability but require the use of relatively long Luya rods, such as root fishing.
The term root fishing comes from Japan and refers to the use of soft bait for fishing for scorched rock benthic fish. Longer fishing rods can better cope with complex underwater environments, whether it is bait control or challenges with underwater obstacles.
Some people think that according to the principle of leverage, the longer the fishing rod, the more laborious it is, but it is not entirely correct. Whether the fighting fish is less energetic depends not only on the length, but also on the proportion of the holding part of the rod body.
Length of contraction and number of knots: The length of the rod storage depends on the number of sections of the rod.
The time that a fishing rod spends with you is not only when fishing, but also when carrying and storing, so the length of the rod contraction must be considered. Anglers can choose the length of contraction that suits them according to their travel mode and storage conditions.
The number of sections in determining the length of the fishing rod storage, but also greatly affects the sensitivity of the fishing rod, which is explained in detail in the previous issue, it will not be repeated too much, friends who need to know can review it. My advice is to choose a Lua rod with a small number of knots and a strong integrity when carrying and storage conditions permit.
The weight, the intuitive feeling of holding the fishing rod in the hand, directly affects the use experience, and is related to the production material of the fishing rod.
Carbon content affects the weight, hardness and toughness of the rod.
A very critical factor affecting the weight of a Lua rod is the carbon (carbon) content of the rod. The lighter the fishing rod, the higher the carbon content, but the relative toughness is relatively poor, simply put, the more brittle it is, and it is easy to burst the rod.
Usually the fish to be attacked by the seawater rod are relatively large, the struggle is also very fierce, and the toughness of the fishing rod is higher, so the carbon content is lower than that of the rod of the freshwater Luya, and the fiber is more set.
In the case of good choice of hard parameters such as length, hardness, and tonality, the lighter the fishing rod, the more comfortable it is to use. After all, Lua is a sport that requires repeated throwing, and the weight gap in grams will also bring a greater load to people in long-term fishing activities.
And the longer the whole rod and the lower the grip part, the heavier the fishing rod will make people feel fatigue faster.
In today's material environment for making fishing rods, major companies are developing the weight of the fishing rod to a more lightweight, and anglers do not have to think too much when choosing a fishing rod, and the lighter the better if other hard parameters are satisfied and not overweight.
Hardness, the source of Lua rod's strength, so expressed in Power, is one of the most important parameters of a fishing rod. At present, the hardness specifications of fishing rods common in the world are from soft to hard

The primary factor to consider in choosing the starting point of the hardness of the Lua rod is the size and weight of the target fish. The fundamentals of Lua Sport are fishing, and the hardness of the rod directly determines what kind of target fish your rod is suitable for fishing.
Of course, it is not to say that what kind of fish to catch must use the most suitable hardness of this fish, it is also possible to adjust a level up and down on the most suitable hardness, softer can enjoy the stimulation of walking fish more, hard some can better control the fish and faster closing line.
The second is the weight of the bait used, and the fishing rods with different hardness have the most suitable bait weight for throwing. Although the size of some target fish is not very large, it needs to use a heavy bait such as iron plate, so it is also harder in the choice of hardness.
Here again, the little naughty root fishing is brought up to fight.
The root fishing rod with UL hardness may be raised to the bottom diameter only available in L hardness when the first diameter is crossed to the element diameter.
Because the bottom structure of the fishing environment of root fishing is very complicated, after the fish, the fish should be quickly pulled out of the structural obstacle area, otherwise the fish will easily cause the bottom to hang in the structure, resulting in a broken line running fish, so there is a fishing rod that belongs to the change rod.
Action, the curve change of Lua rod, is a key parameter that is very concerned by high-end players, but is difficult for beginners to understand and recognize, and is easy to confuse with hardness.
Tonality can also be understood as the response speed of the pole rebound, and the international common classification method is

Among them, S, R, F are the mainstream parameters, and SS, RF, and FF are the parameters that appear in special cases.
The difference between the different tonals is the position of the bending point of the fishing rod, corresponding to the usual 55 tones (SS), 46 tones (S), 37 tones (R), 28 (F) and some middle tones (RF between 37 and 28, FF more than 28 tones).
The tone is from slow to fast, and the bending point of the fishing rod is from back to front.
Two poles with the same tonality, one L hardness, one H hardness, bent to the same extent, one needs 1kg load, the other may need 4kg load.
Different baits require different tonals to control, the slower the tonality of the same hardness of Lu Ya rod, the slower the speed of the control action to the bait, the slower the perception of the bait return, the better the stability of the bait.
SS and S tone generally only appear on the trout rod, because the bait and control bait used by trout are more special, requiring slow and smooth control of the fly hook to lure the fish to the bait, SS or S tune can be very good to reduce the sudden acceleration brought by the hand action to the bait, so that the bait can be smoothly searched for highly vigilant trout.
R and RF tones are generally used to manipulate hard bolt baits such as small fat, fibrillator type bait, mino, wave climb, pencil and so on. This kind of bait has a common feature is that the bait itself will move when traveling in the water, and the R and RF tones can well filter out the vibration caused by these actions and clearly perceive the bite.
F and FF adjustments are more suitable for fishing groups that use soft worms such as lead hooks. This kind of bait needs to be used to make the bait "live" by manipulating the method, and the angler needs to accurately grasp the structure of the bottom of the water, and the high resilience of the F and FF adjustments can make the bait react quickly and sensitively perceive the underwater information transmitted by the fishing group.
The tone of The Lua rod also affects the distance of the throw. When throwing with the correct throwing posture, the faster the tonal rebound force, the smoother the throw, the farther away the distance.
There are two factors that determine tonality
The first point is the process of the rod slightly (solid or hollow), the solid rod is slightly softer, the toughness is good, but the control is not good, it will be heavy, and the hollow rod is slightly lighter, stiffer and harder.
The second point is the excessive trend of the fishing rod first path to the meta diameter, see below.
There is no good or bad tone, many anglers buy fishing rods and ask if it is fast tune, thinking that no matter what, fast tune is good. When choosing a fishing rod, you should choose the tone of the fishing rod according to your actual fishing needs.
The first diameter, the element diameter, the diameter of the two ends of the luya rod, the value is about large, the thicker the pole, the greater the hardness.
The first path is the top diameter of the luya rod body part, the yuan diameter is the end diameter of the luya rod body part, the difference in the transition trend from the first diameter to the yuan diameter determines the tonality of the luya rod, the simple understanding is that the fishing rod from the first diameter to the element diameter is excessive, the more uniform, the more moderate the trend, the slower the tone.
Guide ring, once again, the guide ring is definitely the soul of Lu Yagan! So I'm going to copy the contents of the last issue!
Long-term high-frequency throwing, the wear of the fishing line is very large, and in most cases as the main line of Luya PE line is not wear-resistant, the relatively poor guide ring is easy to make the fishing line hairy, resulting in the big fish cutting line, and when the big fish suddenly comes, the strength and heat dissipation of the guide ring is also a very large test, so the choice of the guide ring is the top priority of the Luya rod!
The bracket of the guide ring acts as a support for the porcelain ring, which is equivalent to a bone. The materials of the bracket are stainless steel, titanium alloy and AGS. Stainless steel bracket is the cheapest and most widely used material, with better viscosity than titanium alloy frames, higher strength than AGS frames, and more advantages when fishing for large fish. Titanium alloy bracket is lighter than stainless steel frame, higher perception, better corrosion resistance, so the price is also higher than stainless steel bracket, if the real use of titanium alloy guide ring, the price of fishing rod will not be low. AGS is a patent of up to 100 million watts, high carbon fiber material AGS high strength, sensitivity and light weight in terms of qualitative leap, can be regarded as a high-tech product, the only and fatal drawback is: expensive!
With bones, there must be flesh and blood, and the porcelain ring is! How important are porcelain rings? Let's put it this way, every time you throw, every circle of closing, fishing line must have intimate contact with the porcelain ring, just like a girl, the difference in experience brought by the abundance of flesh and blood or the withering is self-evident. We are familiar with and recognize the porcelain ring brand, we all know, Japan Fuji, many merchants will say that they are Fuji guide ring, but do not tell you which guide ring is Fuji. Here we must popularize the science: the two most important indicators of the conductive ring are Vickers hardness and thermal conductivity, followed by specific gravity and bending strength. The ultra-high hardness determines the service life of the guide ring; the excellent thermal conductivity plays a good protective role for the fishing line, and the finer fishing line can be used without the heat generated by the friction after the fish damage the fishing line is broken; the proportion is small and can be lightweight; the bending strength ensures that the porcelain ring will not be easily exploded. The more expensive the fishing rod, the more introduction and publicity about the guide ring, and the cheap fishing rod will hardly mention the guide ring, even if it is only to say a brand name that makes you think it is tall. Fit line number refers to the line number of lines in the range of sizes that a fishing rod uses, rather than the line number that can only use this range.
Different line numbers have different tensile limits, and the size suitable for line numbers is determined by the hardness of the Luya rod and the quality and inner diameter of the guide ring.
The hardness of the fishing rod determines the size and struggle of the target fish of the fishing rod strategy, and the corresponding line number can be used to continuously run the fish.
The quality and inner diameter of the guide ring determine the smoothness of the line, the better the quality of the guide ring, the smaller the friction resistance of the throwing line, the smaller the wear, and the thinner the wire number can be used when the tensile value allows.
This is nothing to tangle, after selecting the hardness and tonality of the Luya rod, it recommends using what number range line to use.
However, it is worth mentioning that because of the production process and the quality of raw materials, the fishing line does not have a cost-effective price, the more expensive the better.
Although the international labeling standard is the same, in addition to a few top or high-level fishing line brands, the lines of other brands are basically seriously increased.
The so-called rising sign is that the actual line diameter (thickness) is much thicker than the marked line diameter when the number of indexes is fixed. This greatly affects the choice of suitable line number, and there is only one solution, use the line well or reduce the line number.
There is only one principle for choosing the right line number, and the thinner line is selected according to the reference range given by the rod parameters and the target fish body type.
If you approve of buying expensive wires, you have to buy a rod equipped with a high-level guide ring. As long as the rod is not violently applied, and properly maintained, it is not easy to break, it belongs to a single consumption, but the fishing line is not, and the higher the fishing frequency, the greater the consumption!
Adapting to the weight of the bait, the parameters provided by the Luya rod will tell you that it is more appropriate and comfortable to throw multiple baits. As with the fit line number, bait that is not within the range of the fishing rod can also be used, but it is not strong!
The range of acclimated bait weights is also determined by the hardness and tonality of the rod. The harder the pole adapts to the heavier the bait, and the faster the hardness of the pole adapts to the smaller the bait weight.
Some Lua rods give the adaptation bait weight, which generally appears on the Lua rods with UL and L hardness.

The bait weight range in the figure above is 6-25 grams, spanning 19 grams.
Most of the time I choose bait weight to take the middle value of the recommended bait weight a little higher, there is no why, throw comfortable. Just like driving, the best speed of the speedometer is 220km/h, but the most fuel-efficient and comfortable speed is definitely 110km/h.
Here it is recommended that you try not to use the bait weight, and the fishing rod is huge in the hand when throwing vigorously, and there is a risk of bursting the rod.
The length of the handlebar and the length of the rod grip are closely related to the overall weight of the rod, and determine the center of gravity and grip position of the rod.
The position of the wheel seat determines the installation position of the fishing wheel, because of the design of the fishing rod, and also the holding position of the hand during the entire fishing process.
The shorter the handlebar and the closer the grip is to the tail of the entire rod, the more the center of gravity of the rod will tilt forward, especially the longer rod.
The rod of the short handle is suitable for one-handed throwing, and the handle of the generally short micro rod will be short.
The longer the handlebar, the better the grip, throwing some heavy bait is more suitable for two-handed operation when pursuing a long shot, and it is more convenient to use the body to control the stability of the fishing rod when the fish is medium and large.
There is also the relationship between strength and torque, when two fishing rods of the same length catch fish with the same strength, the one with the lower position is held, and the more dragging force is felt on the hand!
The holding position of the fishing rod of different lengths depends on the proportion of the position of the whole fishing rod, and the higher the proportion, the more energy it is to fight the fish.

The vast majority of Luya rods have been adjusted to the optimal length according to the hardness of the tonal length and other factors, but the concept of the manufacturer and the manufacturer is not the same, if the other parameters of the two fishing rods are compound your requirements, then you can choose the one that you feel more comfortable with the length of the handlebar.
There are also some unimportant parameters of the fishing rod, which will not be mentioned here, and are not used as an important indicator of choosing a fishing rod.
There are so many important parameters of the fishing rod, it is difficult to choose a Luya rod that completely meets your own wishes.
Then you need to sort the parameters of the Luya rod according to the degree of importance, my own purchase according to the order of decreasing importance of the parameters is: hardness = tonal > length> the number of sections of the ring level> > adapt to the bait weight > shrinkage length> weight > suitable for the line number> handle length = wheel seat position> first diameter, element diameter.
Having said so much, some anglers will be worried after reading it, the length and hardness of the Luya rod can appear dozens of collocations, and then distinguish between different tonalities, knots, the models of the Luya rod are simply innumerable, there is no particularly good economic foundation, can it really only be deterred, Luya rod dissuaded?
Definitely not!
Because the target fish and the fishing environment are different, it is certain that Lua players cannot pick the world at once, but not all models of Lua rods must be prepared to play Lua.
Many models of pole parameters have great repeatability, such as a series of S80ML and S78ML models, the difference is only 2 inches in length.
There is also a choice according to the surrounding water environment of your daily life, the place where you live is only a micro-luya target fish such as the white stripe, and all you need to choose is the fishing rod with UL hardness.
Even if you live in a place where there are more types of Lua target fish, you only need to match a Lua rod for each or several target fish.
Therefore, anglers only need to buy the most suitable rods according to their actual needs and economic capabilities.
