Cryptoptera dermatitis

It refers to ☞ dermatitis caused by skin contact with venom in insects.

Causes: After the insect body that stays on the skin is patted or crushed, it is caused by a strong acidic venom in its body.

Clinical manifestations: onset in summer and autumn. Exposed areas such as neck, limbs, and trunk are common. After contact with the venom, local redness and swelling, dense small blisters or pus appear, there is burning pain and burning sensation, itching is obvious.

Prevention: Close screens and mosquito nets at night. When the bug falls on the skin, blow it away, do not beat the bug to death or crush it on the skin.

Treatment: Rinse with 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution for disinfection, or use 0.1% revnuer solution, normal saline, 5% sodium bicarbonate solution or povidone iodine solution for external use. Calamine lotion astringent can be used optionally for blisters, topical glucocorticoids can be used for those who are itchy and dry, and antibiotic ointment can be used topically for those who are infected.
